It’s time for kanyadaan (giving away the bride). The Priest says that if there isn’t any father, then anyone fatherly can do so. Sagar and Madhvi turn to Niranjan, but he stoically refuses. Madhvi asks him, and he says that he’s the father of the groom, and they should instead asks Maharaj to do so. He is highly overwhelmed at this honour. Gangaa too enphatically asks him. He then complies and the ritual is completed.
Gangaa gets dizzy headed yet again, as the Priest asks them to start the rounds. He then helps her get up, and the rounds start, while Prabha thinks that very soon, the poison would start working on them, and she would see how this marriage culminates. She starts getting nauseous, as the rounds continue, and she feels groggy. Next it’s the bride’s turn to come ahead, for the remaining rituals. Gangaa complies groggily, and she has difficulty walking ahead. Finally, she falls on the ground, unconscious. they are all shocked and aghast, while Prabha smiles evilly. They all rush to her care, attending to her.
They all rush to Gangaa, as she collapses on the floor, while taking the pious circles around the fire. Sagar is incredibly tensed for her. Prabha smirks evilly, but then she is forced to think as to why is it only affecting Gangaa and not him. They rush Gangaa to the room, and call for the doctor. The Doctor comes and goes to check on Gangaa, while all wait outside in anticipation, particularly sagar who paces around nervously.
Meanwhile, Maharaj remembers his goof up with the paan, when he had accidentally spilled water on the paans that were laced with poison by Prabha earlier. To avoid being scolded for his mistake, he had replaced the paans, with noraml ones, obliviously averting the danger that Prabha had put Gangaa and Sagar in.
Later, Prabha comes to the kitchen, while Maharaj is busy pretending to be working in the kitchen. She asks him about the paan? He finally blurts it out what has really happened. Prabha is disappointed.
Meanwhile, all wait for the Doctor to come out. And when he does, Sagar and his family anxiously ask if everything is okay? The Doctor informs them that Gangaa is fine, and so is the child. They are boggled as the Doctor proclaims that Gangaa is pregnant. They are all shocked, including sagar who is unable to understand what’s going on. They are all baffled. After the Doctor has left, Sagar goes in, while the widow leaves, as Gangaa sits on the bed, in anticipation and nervousness, shy as a bride and would be mother, oblivious to Sagar’s dilemma. She comes and hugs him, while he is too disgusted and frustrated, as she goes on a rant as to how happy she is, to start this new phase in their lives, with their own child. He asks her to please say that it isn’t true? She is taken aback, and says that this must be, as the Doctor himself said so. He is boggled and baffled. She asks what’s the matter. He says that when nothing happened between them, then how did this happen? She’s boggled, and tries to remind him about the night that they consummated their love. but He has no recollection of that memory whatsoever. She is apalled, and then tries to find out ways to make him remember, but he has no memory, as the last thing he remembers is dozing off in unconscious state. She asks how can he even forget those beautiful moments they have of the other night? He too says that if it had happened, then it’s impossible for him to forget such memory, but the truth is that, there aren’t any memories like that! She reminds him of the party, but he doesn’t remember what happened after that. He continues to present his dilemma to her, while she doesn’t know how to react as he continues to second guess, unable to believe her, She asks what is he trying to say, that she is pregnant, and if he didn’t come to her, then is she with anyone else? He says that he isn’t suggesting it, and says that if anything happened as she said, then why doesn’t he remember, and if anything didnt, then how is this happening? H is furious and asks how is this possible, as they were getting married, and everything was perfect, and now this problem arose. She asks if he feels this is all a problem? She asks him if he is doubting that this isn’t his child? He asks her to stop asking questions. She continues to ask him, if he has any doubts about her and the child? He finally blurts it out that he does have doubt! She is shocked and aghast. She says that she liked it. He asks her to try and understand as he doesn’t remember anything, and begs her to try and make him remember and understand everything. She walks out, in a huff, while he screams at her to listen to him, but in vain.
Outside, Amma ji is ashamed of their behaviour, lamenting as to how they couldn’t have waited till after marriage, as pre-marital consummation isn’t allowed in their culture. Madhvi is tensed and shocked. Amma ji asks them to hurry up with the rituals, as the guests are waiting outside, and they need to hush up this matter now.
Meanwhile, Gangaa steps outside, while they all eye her tensedly. She tells Niru that this marriage can’t happen, and asks Amma ji to cancel this marriage right away. All are shell shocked, including Sagar as she walks out, he is tensed. Amma ji asks what’s this madness, and asks them to stop this girl! Madhvi rushes after her. Niru asks him what’s the matter, and he says that he doesn’t know and he’s equally boggled, as to how Gangaa got pregnant. They are stunned into silence to hear this coming from Sagar. He explains what’s Gangaa’s stance, about how this has happened, but he doesn’t remember anything. Niru sks if he even understands what he’s suggesting? Amma ji asks what’s this nonsense, as people are waiting down, and they are mocking the institution of marriage, where no one has a clue of what’s going on. Sagar is frustrated and doesn’t realise what to do. Niru stoically turns around and views the guests from the balcony, waiting for answers. He descends down the stairs. Niru comes amidst the guests, and with folded hands, apologises that their time has been wasted, but cites that due to personal reasons, this marriage won’t happen today, and apologises for the inconvenience caused. The Guests start hushedly talking amongst themselves, as they disperse out, while he stands embarassed and mortified, with his head hung low.
Niranjan sits down desolate on the empty aisle, when Pulkit comes and asks why did he have to say that Gangaa is merely angry and must have said it in frustration, and that it’s better that they talk it out with her. He says that Gangaa cant say things like this in anger, as he knows her, she has self respect and won’t do something like this. Prabha thinks that her plan failed, but still, the outcome is what she wished for, and wodners how.
Meanwhile, Gangaa comes down with
the suitcase, ready to leave home, while Madhvi and the other ladies rush after her, aksing her to slow down, and talk it out, rather than act in haste. She is about to
storm out, when Amma ji stops her way, and Sagar waits behind her. Amma ji slaps Gangaa tightly on the face, while all are shocked and aghast. Gangaa is stunned. Rudra and
Ragini are disturbed. Amma ji says that she was wrong to have trusted her, to have agreed for her marriage with Sagar, and asks her to see Niranjan and how mortified and embarassed they are because of her, and her momentary pleasure! She says that she sold herself, and asks if she enjoyed enough of it? Gangaa is devastated.
Amma ji asks if she couldn’t have waited till after marriage? Gangaa says that she didn’t do anything like that, nor does she regret it, as whatever she did was in full
consent, and in her right senses. They are all shocked. She says that she doesn’t shy from the fact that she is a mother, instead, she is very happy. Amma ji points this to others, and asks her to marry the person who is the father of her Child. Gangaa eyes sagar and says that she was doing that only, but sadly, he doesn’t remember anything and she’ confused.
Prabha understands how sagar had taken the inebriated drink, and smiles viciously. In front of the entire family, Pulkit suggests that if there is so much doubt, then they
can easily go for a paternity test to verify it. A vehement Gangaa denies it and says that she won’t do any test for her genuinety, and when there isn’t any trust and belief, then what’s the point of a relationship? Sagar is distraught and shocked, while all others stand tensedly. She takes her suitcase, and begins to leave, when Sagar confronts her, enraged and furious, and asks if she is speaking the truth, then why is she scared? Gangaa says that she doesn’t need to prove anything.
He asks her why She’s shying from the test then? She says that she doesn’t want conditional trust. He says that this is wrong, but her ego shall ruin them one day, and
thats what’s stopping her from speaking the truth. He asks her to say the truth once, after which he won’t say a word, and that he would accept her child too. They’re all
tensed.
Gangaa says that this child or she herself, doesn’t need his sympathy, as she can live alone, but not stay with a guy, who doubts her character. She says that he didn’t just break her trust, but even the respect she had for him, and that she doesn’t want their child, to be in the shadows of a father, who doubts his paternity, and as
far as ego is concerned, had it been this important, then she wouldn’t have forgiven him every single time. He gets frustrated and asks if this is his mistake too, and that she is right as always. He asks her why she’s refusing the test, as they would all know that the child is illegitimate. She asks him not to dare call their child illegitimate, as it’s the symbol of their love. He asks whose? She is aghast. He asks her to speak the name of the peerson she betrayed him for! She says that she has nothing
else to say or hear. The entire atmosphere gets tensed. Sagar goes away, while all tells her to stop and sit down, and come to a solution. Sagar gets tensed. He then
rushes to her, and comes to her, asking what’s going on, and why did she have to do this, as everything was going as they had wanted, then why did this have to creep
up? They’re all tensed. He asks her to say it just once, that this is all a lie. He says that this is merely a bad dream, and begs her to stop this dream. They are all devastated.
Ragini is distraught. Rudra takes Ragini inside, while Supriya helps her. when Gangaa doesnt respond, he asks her not to worry, as they would get married today, and that he would forget everything and accept her too. She’s is in a daze, as he tries to nudge and take her to the aisle. She refuses saying that she doesnt want the basis of their relationship on sympathy. She says that trust is paramount, and when that isn’t there, nothing else matters. He asks how can this be, that she alienated him within a second. He asks if she didn’t feel bad while sleeping with someone else? She screams at him to shut up! He asks why She’s in such pain now, as
he is merely speaking the truth? She says that yes there was, and what would he do by knowing the name? He is taken aback. He says that there is going to be no use now, and starts throwing things around, pointing out that she is the Sinner, and yet he is willing to accept her and her child, and she is acting pricey. Gangaa is
distraught. Gangaa says that she can’t believe his thinking, and that every accusation of his, is a blessing to her.
She takes her suitcase, and begins to walk out, when Madhvi stops her saying that sagar is irrational in anger. But Gangaa is adamant that there isn’t anything left to talk about. Madhvi asks her not to talk in haste and solve it all. But Niranjan asks her not to stop Gangaa, shocking them all, as she has made up her mind, then so be it! She starts walking out, while Sagar proclaims to her that if she steps out today, then she should never come back! She stops for a second, and then walks out determinedly. All stand tensedly. Sagar is devastated.
The Ashram ladies take their leave too. Sagar clenches his hands in fists, while Madhvi turns around aghast. Sagar gets berserk and frantic, throwing things around,
while everyone tries to calm him down. Pulkit asks what’s wrong with him, and he says that he has gone mad! The ladies are apalled to see him like this. He breaks down
in tears collapsing, while Prabha comments that they should calm him down. But Amma ji asks them to let Sagar vent out his anger and frustration, and pain. Sagar screams
and lashes out terribly, while they all try to control him. He walks up and rushes towards his room. Niru leaves. They all disperse one after the other.
Gangaa watches distraught on the road, as she remembers stinging accusations of Sagar and Amma ji. she eyes a mud house and remembers the house that they had built together. Meanwhile, Sagar too sees it in their home, and he’s apalled as he remembers those memories with her. In his frustration, he breaks the house. Gangaa takes a rest
under a tree, broken down and exhausted, still in a daze of shock. He throws out all his stuff, and starts searching for Gangaa’s things in his wardrobe, each reminding him of
the pain that she supposedly gave. He says that he doesn’t need anything to remind him of her, while she eyes her henna tattoo, for Sagar’s name. Both are completely lost and
distraught.
