SUNDAY UPDATE ON ZARA’S NIKAH, 5TH OF JULY, 2020

All the family members are sitted in the lounge. Shahbaz says to call the groom and the bride. Alina and Kabir comes there. Ayesha asks where is Zara? Alina says she left. Ayesha says to where? Alina says maybe her home. All are stunned. Kabir hints Alina to remain silent. Salma says she will call Zara. Irfan says Zara doesn’t have a Phone. Zeenat says she made so much food for Zara and she ran away? Kabir says she didn’t runaway, as she told them that she has some urgent work to do. Alina says she told them to tell all of them that she is sorry. Shahbaz says it’s okay, she must have something really important to work on.

Zeenat says to the family that it’s the first day, and the bride isn’t here, which means the groom has to eat alone and it’s not a good omen. Kabir says to Zeenat that there is no bad or good omen. Shahbaz says Kabir is right, but if Zeenat has a problem with that, then they can get someone else to sit beside him.

Ruksar is passing by, Shahbaz asks her to sit beside Kabir, they all look on. Zeenat nods at her. Ayesha is tensed. Salma is miffed. Ayesha notices it and says one minute Ruksar. She says Kabir you get up. She says Kabir and Ruksar won’t sit on those Chairs, but she and Salma will be sitting on those Chairs instead, as Zara is her (Salma’s) shadow, while Kabir is her (Ayesha’s) own shadow, so they will sit on it. Salma sits with Ayesha there, Kabir smiles, and Zeenat fumes in anger.

Salma comes home and says to Zara that what is this childish act, why did she leave when the Country’s Chiarman was there? Zara says they are forcing two adults for engagement and they didn’t for once think of what she was going through. Salma says when she started School in Childhood, she never wanted to go, she used to cry so much and Irfan thought to let her stay back home, but she sent her to School anyways, because she always knew it was right for her.

Zara asks in if going to School for sometime and marrying the wrong person th same? Salma says you think this is bad for you, but it’s not, don’t be stubborn, you are engaged, so accept it. Zara says it’s just an engagement, not marriage. Zara says to Salma that it’s either she doesn’t understand or she’s avoiding it, and she’s telling her fir the last time, that at the time of Nikah (wedding), she will say NO! Irfan is shocked to hear that.

Zara says to Salma that she will say no during the Nikah (wedding), she takes off her engagement ring and leaves. Salma says to Irfan that she’s tired of explaining, and what if she does that later?

Kabir comes to Shahbaz and says he wants to request him to stop this wedding, as he doesn’t want his whole family to be insulted. Shahbaz says if he wants to insult their family, then do it, as this marriage has already been written in his fate. Kabir says he will say NO. Shahbaz says he’s making a Pillar for him to becoming the Chiarman of this City. Kabir says he’s his Son, and God is watching everything.

Zeenat asks Ruksar why she said no and gave Zara’s hands into Kabir’s hands. Ruksar sees Ayesha coming there and says she did what was right, and what Zara did for her opened her eyes, so she’s doing this for the happiness of others. Ayesha comes there and says she’s proud of Ruksar, Ruksar says she’s only spreading happiness. Zeenat thinks what’s going on?

Kabir’s family comes to Salma’s house for the henna Ceremony. Salma isn’t happy to see Ruksar. Ruksar greets her. They all settle down. Salma asks Shabana, her Servant to serve them.

Salma comes to Irfan and says Ruksar has come here, but she’s worried, and what if she does something wrong? Irfan says if she wanted to do something bad, then she wouldn’t have given Zara’s hand into Kabir’s. Salma says his daughter is no less, she hasn’t come till now, so she will go and check on her.

Zeenat asks the Guests to call the Bride, they can’t wait that much. Ayesha asks her to calm down. Zeenat says they have a lot of work. Salma says she will call Zara. Reema brings Zara there. Salma asks her to sit silently. Zara sits down. Zeenat asks Zara where is her engagement ring? They all look on. Zeenat says she got engaged yesterday and couldn’t bear the heaviness of that ring for one day? Zara looks on.

Ayesha says even on her own henna tattoo day, she also took off her own engagement ring, and all girls do this for the henna function, so she should stop criticizing small things. Ayesha asks Salma to call her guests and start the Ceremony. Salma nods.

The Guests start applying the tumeric paste. One woman is about to apply the tumeric paste on Zara, when Zeenat suddenly says that this woman is a Widow, and it’s a bad omen that she is applying the tumeric paste. The Woman sadly turns to leave, but Zara stops her and says there is no restrictions for Widows in their religion. Ayesha says you are right Zara, there are no such things in their religion, she asks the Widow to start the rituals, the Widow does so, happily.

Ayesha brings Zeenat to a corner and says what is all this? Remember one thing, if she tries to spoil her Son’s happiness, then she can become her Mother-in-law instead of her Mother! Zeenat is stunned. Ayesha glares at her and leaves. Ayesha applies the tumeric paste to Zara’s face. Zara is sad. Salma comes to her and applies the tumeric paste on her, Zara holds her hand and pleads silently. Salma takes her hand back and wipes her tears. Ruksar applies the tumeric paste on her face and smiles.

Zara washes off the tumeric paste from her face and she’s shocked to see rashes and allergy on her face. She screams Mom!!!! Ruksar and Salma comes there. Ruksar crazily laughs seeing Zara’s state. Salma and Zara looks at her in confusion. Big pimples fall on Zara’s face… It all turns out to be Salma’s bad dream. She wipes her sweat and the glass falls from her hands, she is about to pick it up, when Ruksar comes there and says they say when glass breaks, then bad omen goes away. Salma asks if she needs anything? Ruksar says her behaviour shows that she’s miffed with her, and she’s sorry if she has hurt her, she holds her hand and says she promised that she will never come in between Zara and Kabir. Salma says there is only one way to not come in between them, and that’s to leave that house forever.

Ifran comes there and says it’s not needed at all. Irfan says to Ruksar that Shahbaz referred to her as a daughter, so she’s also a daughter to them as well, even though she had made some mistake, they have forgiven her, so she should go and enjoy herself. Ruksar thanks him, she smirks and leaves.

Irfan says to Salma that God likes those that are forgiving. Salma says she doesn’t trust this girl, she just trust the Country’s Chiarman and Ayesha, which is why she has decided to give Zara into this family.

Reema says to Alina that her plan is nice, but Zara is already in a bad mood, and what if it back fires? Alina says it won’t happen, as they will bring them together, so please accept this. Reema says okay. Alina says she will handle Zara, as she won’t scold her, even if she gets to know of their plan and you handle Kabir, he won’t scold you.

In the function, Ayesha says let’s start applying the henna tattoo on Zara’s hands. She asks Salma to sing, Salma says she can’t, so let the girls enjoy. All the girls start dancing.

Alina and Reema comes there with Ruksar and dances. Zeenat glares at Ruksar. Alina tries to pull Zara on the stage, but Zara moves back. Ruksar pulls Zara on the stage and dances with her. She twirls Zara on Swaar lun… song and dances with her, Zara is uncomfortable. Alina and Reema dances with her too. Zara goes and sit on the swing grumpily. Salma smiles at Zara.

Reema distracts Zara while Alina writes Kabir’s name on her henna hand. Zara doesn’t notice. Salma is emotional. Ayesha wipes her tears and says they will take good care of her daughter. Zara leaves from there.

Kabir says to Alina that these rituals are useless, they are not part of their religion, so he won’t be a part of it. Alina says Zara’s family is waiting, and all Guests have arrived, Salma’s Aunt and her guests are there, so please come.

Ayesha brings clothes and says Kabir get ready. Alina says he’s not coming, saying those traditions aren’t part of their religion. Ayesha asks Kabir that listening to his Mother is a part of their religion, right? And if it is, then get ready and come with me, I am waiting, Kabir grumpily goes to get ready.

Kabir comes to the Haldi (Tumeric paste) function and greets Salma. The girls answers him and giggles. Salma applies tumeric paste on him. Alina and Ayesha applies it after. Zeenat says to Ruksar that she raised her like a Mother, and she can’t hide her tears from her, as it’s very hard to pretend to be nice, since she has to give her love to others, but why does she want to be nice, it’s not bad to be a little bad? Ruksar says she’s an elder to her in age but she’s more clever in thinking with the mind, as Zeenat thinks from the heart.

Reema says to Kabir that she’s going to be his Sister-in-law, so she will apply the auspicious henna on him. Kabir nods. Reema winks at Alina to get him busy him while she writes Zara’s name on his hand. Alina asks him for a Sister’s rights. A girl says you make your brother handle your tantrums, but once his wife comes into his life, then the brothers forget all about their Sisters. Reema applies mehndi on his hands.

Zara looks at her henna tattoo and sees Kabir’s name written on her hand, she recalls how they’ve always had an argument. Shubratan (the Servant) brings juice for her and says apply it on your henna, as it will colour her henna the more. Zara throws the juice away and says she wants the henna to have more colour right? Zara brings the water bucket and washes her hands. Shubratan asks her to stop it and says this is not right. Zara washes her henna away and cries.

Kabir comes to the washroom and washes off his henna. He sees “Z” written on his hand and is stunned. Ruksar brings towel for him. He doesn’t take it. Ruksar says the Marriage day is the most beautiful, fulfill all your rituals, as she wants him to be happy. Kabir says she’s lying, as if she wanted to see him happy, then she wouldn’t have gotten him engaged with Zara. Ruksar says but he wanted to marry a girl that his father likes/choose for him, and he likes Zara. Kabir says he doesn’t like her, he is doing politics, but they are friends at least, then why did she (Ruksar) do this to him? Ruksar says he took her as a friend, but she has always taken him more than that, she says she will never do anything bad with him, and what she did was for his happiness. He says this is not his happiness, Ruksar leaves. Kabir calls Zara, but her Phone is switched off.

Salma says to irfan that they treated them well, and Ayesha is doing a really nice work, she adds thar Zara is lucky to have her as her Mother-in-law.

Kabir calls Irfan and asks if he can say something? He says he is sorry if he doesn’t like it. Irfan says he’s like their Son, so they won’t feel bad. Kabir says actually…, he wants to talk to Zara. Irfan smiles and says she’s his fiancee, so he can talk to her. He calls Zara and gives her the Phone. Zara sees Kabir’s call and looks on. She takes the Phone and leaves.

Salma tries to go behind her, but Irfan says does she not have shame to be eavesdropping on their convo? Salma says but they always plan and plot to break the marriage. Irfan makes her sit down and says she was the one that told him that just like her daughter, Zara did the engagement, she will also do the Marriage, besides tomorrow is the wedding, they don’t really have time to plan.

Zara talks to Kabir and says she can’t bear it, she’s suffocating, please do something before we get married. Kabir says the same is happening with him, can we meet? Zara says not today, but tomorrow, she will go to the beauty parlour to get ready, so he can meet her there. Kabir says okay he will come there, he ends the call.
