Niranjan returns home and is angry. 3 meetings were cancelled because of the movement of stars? People don’t care about other people’s time. Raghav tries to calm him down but in vain. Madhvi and Prabha notices him thus. She goes to make tea once Raghav ji agrees to it. Prabha leaves for her home. Niranjan gets a call from the same client, but does not want to talk to him. Raghav ji explains that Mr. Singh is the top industrialist of this city. We cannot behave like this with him. Niranjan knows all about Mr. Singh’s journey to the top. I am not angry about him cancelling the meeting thrice. I am angry because of the case. Call him and tell him right away that I wont fight this case. Raghav ji says there are other ways to say no. This reaction won’t appeal to Mr. Singh. Madhvi brings tea, but Niranjan walks away saying he doesn’t want it. Raghav ji respects Niranjan for his values and ideals, but you have to be extra careful and diplomatic when you talk to rich people, so they don’t feel bad. Madhvi says you know I don’t interfere in his work. He nods. But you are the only one who can make him understand. You can say no calmly and politely too. There is no surety about these rich people. Why become enemies with someone for no reason? Madhvi agrees to try and talk to her husband once.
Niranjan is talking to someone on phone about car repair. Madhvi comes there, while Gangaa stands outside the room. Madhvi keeps the tea cup on the table and straightens his shirt collar. She tries to find out what is troubling him. He retorts that nothing will happen even if he tells her. You won’t understand it. Madhvi says what Raghav ji had told her. It isn’t right to refuse someone straightaway. This angers Niranjan. Now you will tell me what I should do? Stop worrying about me and focus on your work. So much food (grains, and so on) wouldn’t have been wasted today if you were a little careful! Focus on your responsibilities first. Go away. Madhvi is in tears. Gangaa is sad seeing them fight. She immediately runs up to Sir(Niranjan), and says Please don’t scold Madhvi, She is not at fault, yet everyone is scolding her. See, she is crying so much. Niranjan tells her to go away, but Gangaa speaks up the truth. I had gone to the storeroom yesternight. I told everything to Amma ji too. They look at her in surprise. Scold me, but please don’t say anything to Madhi. Madhvi and Niranjan ask her if she had gone to the storeroom? Gangaa says I never lie. Madhvi again asks her if she was the one who opened the lock and stole some stuff from there. Gangaa is all quiet. Niranajn cannot believe it that a girl like her, for whom self respect is everything, can do something like that. You are lying. He takes Gangaa downstairs with him. Madhvi follows them.
Niranjan brings Gangaa to the storeroom. Tell me why you had come here? Gangaa says I was hungry. I had come here to eat mathris. They notice the jar kept on the top shelf. Niranjan wants Gangaa to show him how she reached out for the jar. Gangaa climbs up an oil container, but still couldn’t get hold of the jar. Niranjan deduces that Gangaa was not alone yesternight. Someone else was with you. You didn’t get it on your own. Agreed that you came here, but with whom? Who are you trying to save? Tell me the name of that person. Gangaa stands there silently. Niranjan turns to Madhvi. You had a problem with Gangaa, who cannot think ill of anyone. She is quiet so Sagar or Pulkit are safe. She is sad because you got scolded for no reason. She took all the blame on herself and even told the same to Amma ji so no one is angry with you. And you? Madhvi realises her mistake. Niranjan leaves from there.
Madhvi is touched by Gangaa’s act. Gangaa wipes her tears. You don’t cry or I too will start crying. Madhvi hugs her.
Madhvi hugs Gangaa. Gangaa thinks of her Bappa. She was ill once and her Bappa was taking care of her. he was so sad to see her thus. He had hugged her to make her feel better. Your fever would have disappeared if your Maiyya was here and had hugged you like this. Gangaa had hugged him tightly then. He explains that every pain disappears with a motherly love, a motherly touch. Gangaa hugs Madhvi tightly and closes her eyes. Madhvi cries and then kisses her on her forehead. Amma ji must have shouted at you and scolded you as well? Gangaa says it is ok. I had made a mistake so I bear the scolding, the punishment and I will keep the fast too. Madhvi decides to talk to Amma ji, but Gangaa doesn’t want Sudha to win. I will keep the fast. Madhvi smiles. That fast is really tough. You won’t
keep it. I will talk to Amma ji.
Madhvi tells everything to Amma ji, but Amma ji already knows that Sagar was involved. But you won’t tell anyone. You know how Niranjan will react to it.
Niranjan marches in the kids room and asks both the kids about yesternight’s incident. It is sure either of you was with her, but who? I want to hear it from the culprit’s mouth only. Tell me who stole the mathri? Who is Gangaa trying to protect by keeping Mum? Both kids keep quiet. Niranjan says now, I will punish both of you, even the one who is not involved in that incident. Niranjan leaves from there.
Madhvi agrees not to tell anyone, but you know that Gangaa is innocent. Please forgive her. please don’t make her keep that fast. Amma ji stays put. How dare she go against me? I had told her not to eat after sunset, yet she didn’t pay heed to my warnings. Madhvi points out that Gangaa has not eaten any of the mathris. Plus it was Sagar’s mistake, so why should we punish Gangaa? Amma ji is irked with her for she always blames Sagar. Sagar is innocent. That girl is too smart for him. She must have led him to it. Can he ever do it otherwise? I have no enmity towards Gangaa. You are telling me to forgive Gangaa, but one forgives those who apologize first! That arrogant girl hasn’t apologized to me, so how can I forget her? She keeps a condition that she won’t make Ganga keep the fast if she apologized to her. Madhvi gets happy.
Sagar asks Gangaa if she told the entire truth to Dadi. Why didn’t you mention my name? She didn’t mention his name as it would have caused a problem for him. I don’t cheat anyone. He tells her what he has done. She reasons that she cannot believe him as Amma ji has not yet told her not to keep the fast. Sagar is taken aback. Now she knows that I have done the mistake. Now she won’t make you keep that fast. Madhvi joins them. Madhvi tells Gangaa that Amma ji is ready to forgive her,but she has a condition. You will have to apologize to her. Gangaa says I haven’t done anything wrong. Madhvi puts forward the sunset point. Gangaa asks her if she too believes that widows should not eat anything after sunset. Gangaa and Sagar wait for her answer. If you tell me that this is right, then I will apologize to Amma ji. Madhvi replies that it may not be right, but what’s the harm in apologizing to Amma ji? You will be spared of punishment at least. Gangaaa tells them what her Bappa used to say. Someone who apologizes just for the sake of it; someone who lies; and someone who gives fake promises is a coward! I am not a coward. Madhvi and Ganga still tell her to apologize. Amma ji listens to their convo from a distance. Gangaa stays put. I can apologize to her 100 times if I am wrong. I can even touch Amma ji’s feet and do whatever you will tell me to, but I will not apologize just for the sake of it when I am not at fault. Amma ji steps in. Look at this girl’s stubbornness. The fire in her eyes, her anger, is just too much. I have to break all of it or she will destroy this house one day. We will have to be strict with her from now on. Come what may, she will have to keep a fast.
Maharaj ji is keeping a tab on Maid working slowly. Amma ji gives the task of cleaning the prayer utensils to Gangaa. Madhvi offers to do it. Amma ji suggests her to keep a fast first for that or let Gangaa learn some work. Ganga assures Madhvi that she will do it. Amma ji is right. How will I learn it if I don’t do it? Amma ji sends Gangaa with Maharaj ji so he can guide her on how to do everything. Maid leaves for her home.
Maharaj ji gives a set of instructions to Gangaa and leaves her with the utensils. Amma ji takes Madhvi aside for the menu for tomorrow. Sagar walks up to Gangaa. She assures him that she will do it all. It isn’t that tough. She shows the clean utensils to Amma ji next. Amma ji cannot find any fault with her work. Sagar looks on from outside as Gangaa helps Amma ji in setting up the temple in her room. Sagar is worried for Gangaa. Gangaa follows Amma ji in whatever she does. They sit down to have food early morning next day. Maharaj ji gives Gangajal to Amma ji. Amma ji once again points out to Gangaa that it will be a very tough fast. She explains all the rituals of the fast to Gangaa. No food or water for the next 24 hours. I am giving one last chance to you. You can avoid keeping fast if you apologize to me? But she will have to fulfil the fast if she takes Gangajal once. What do you want; forgiveness or fast? Ganga simply holds out her hand so she can give her Gangajal.
Gangaa runs around and offers sherbet to every passerby. Amma ji comes out to look for Maharaj ji. She notices little Gangaa running around so much while giving sherbet to everyone. She goes back inside without saying anything to anyone. Gangaa is tired. She sits at one corner.
