Niranjan has brought chocolates for Sagar and a pair of shoes for Gangaa. Your feet will be hurt as you roam around bare footed. She is surprised to find out that he already knows that she doesn’t have shoes. Are you still angry with me? He shakes his head. She wears the sandals happily. Title track plays… Gangaa jumps in the courtyard excitedly wearing her new Shoes. Sagar too smiles to see her happy.
Prabha reasons that if Gangaa doesn’t find a good house today, then how will she spend her whole life all alone. What will she do? Amma ji and Prabha discuss about Gangaa. Prabha turns to leave when Madhvi stops her. Ratan (Prabha’s husband) has gone out of town. I have to do lots of work. Madhvi has already packed dinner for her and Yash. She gives a saree to Prabha and some clothes / toys for Yash on the occasion of Basant Panchami. Prabha declines (acting) but later accepts it. Amma ji is not happy to see all this. What did I think before handing over the house keys to her?
Sagar asks Gangaa if she has any siblings? She says no. But I had many friends back in my village. We used to play a lot and used to take bath in Pokhar (pond). We even used to climb over trees to pluck fruits. Have you ever tried it? It’s fun. Sagar says I have never done it as Dadi has warned me against it. Gangaa offers to teach it to him. He also wants to know how to make rope using dupattas and get off the terrace. She shakes her head as Dadi will get angry at her again. He sadly says you don’t do anything for me. She reminds him that she plays cricket with him, had even come to his school stealthily. He recalls that he had made 100 runs that day. I wish the boys of my locality had seen it too. She suggests him to do it tomorrow as it is his holiday tomorrow. You can score as many runs as you want to. He gets excited at the idea. The kids of my locality think they are very smart and I cannot score 100 runs.
Madhvi tries to put ointment on her wound, but Niranjan puts it for her. She looks at him and smiles. Amma ji is doing prayers when she notices them. She cannot exactly see what they are doing and kind of misinterprets it. She coughs and Niranjan leaves after telling Madhvi to send Raghav ji to the study room when he comes. Amma ji remarks to Madhvi that not even a newlywed couple behave like this. Amma ji indirectly taunts Madhvi over what she did yesterday. Don’t give everything to everyone. Madhvi reminds her that she had asked for her permission before sending it. Amma ji reminds her of her two sister-in-laws who are in Allahabad. Madhvi says she has brought sarees for them too. She goes to bring them. Amma ji thinks of Prabha’s words. I just hope Niranjan creates no fuss this time and I get rid of this Gangaa.
Sagar and Gangaa are all set to play cricket when his friends come there. They refuse to play with him, but Sagar in turn refuses to play with them. He says he would play with Gangaa. They taunt him that he cannot play nicely, so now, he is playing with a girl. Gangaa advises Sagar not to react as this is what they want. Show them that you can make a century. A boy challenges Sagar to do some acts with the football. The ball bounces to another corner and comes under Ratan’s scooter. They all are shocked to find the ball all deflated now. Sagar rushes to meet his Uncle. He is actually glad at what has happened with the ball, though his friends are not.
Amma ji doesn’t like any of the saree that Madhvi has picked for her sister-in-laws. Ratan greets his sister. He asks about her health and how his job keeps him busy all the time. He greets Amma ji next. Madhvi tells him to have some food, but he wants to go meet Yash’s teacher first. He leaves with Yash. Amma ji notices Prabha staring at the sarees longingly. Amma ji selects one saree (that Prabha keeps staring at longingly) and gives it to Madhvi to pack. Prabha stares at it in wonder. Madhiv leaves. Amma ji asks Prabha if she had a word with Ratan’s boss regarding Gangaa? Prabha is completely hooked with the sarees and sits on the sofa next to Amma ji excitedly. Prabha shares the good news with Amma ji that the couple is ready to adopt Gangaa as soon as possible. You will have to talk to Niranjan ji now. Amma ji too doesn’t want to postpone it for later. I will talk to Niranjan right away. She goes inside when Prabha checks out the sarees.
A fat boy threatens Sagar not to act smart with them. You don’t know what we all can do to you. Sagar bows down his head sadly, but Gangaa retorts back. She says fatty, why are you blaming him? He didn’t mess up with your ball. He is not at fault. The boys refuse to talk to her. It is between us and Sagar. Plus you (Sagar) cannot defeat us. Gangaa again speaks for Sagar. He can defeat you, be it any game. The guys challenge Sagar to defeat them in kite flying. They mock him as Sagar stands there tight lipped.
Prabha tells Niranjan, Madhvi, and Raghav ji about the idea of Gupta’s thinking of adopting Gangaa. The couple has everything except a baby. They are modern people so they are opened with the idea of adopting a girl. Gangaa’s life will be set and you too will be free of your responsibility. Madhvi likes the whole idea. Gangaa will get a home, a family. There can be nothing better than this.
Niranjan asks for Raghav ji’s suggestion, but Amma ji speaks up. This isn’t a court case that you will discuss with everyone. For how long will you keep her here? I had told you initially that she cannot continue to stay here for long. This is a good chance, so why think so much? Raghav ji too finds sense in her words. Niranjan agrees as they all feel it is right. But I want to meet them once. Prabha goes aside to call Gupta’s to come over to their house right away. Madhvi tells Amma ji that she only will have to explain it to Sagar. He will be very sad. He has found a companion after a lot of difficulty.
The boys mock Sagar by calling him a coward. Gangaa doesn’t like it. Sagar is not a coward. He will play and win as well. Gangaa is all positive and speaks in Sagar’s support. The challenge is on. The boys leave. Sagar scolds Gangaa. Are you mad? I have never flown a kite in my life! How will I do it today? I will be insulted in front of everyone because of you. She assures him that he only will be the winner. She takes him to some place with her. He goes with her reluctantly.
Niranjan thinks about Gangaa as he paces in the balcony. Madhvi comes there and finds him lost in thoughts. I know you are worried about Gangaa. But you have already had a word with the couple on phone. You have even met them at Yash’s birthday party. Why do you worry now? You had not brought her here forever. She has to go one day. He replies that no one can understand anything in a two minute convo on phone or amidst a large gathering. If I don’t feel satisfied enough that they will be able to take good care of Gangaa, then I am not going to send her there. That girl is my responsibility. There is a very big difference between fulfilling your responsibility and overlooking it.
Gupta’s have come over at Chaturvedi House. Prabha talks all good things about them and Amma ji too encourages them. You will get a child, and an orphan’s life will change for good. They all wait for Niranjan and Madhvi’s point of view.
Gangaa is readying a kite for Sagar. He tells her that it is of no use. Those boys are an expert in that. We cannot defeat them. Gangaa tells him about her Bappa’s advice. The most important thing is to make the kite fit for flying. She teaches Sagar how to fly a kite. He is impressed with her talents. You even know how to fly a kite! I was getting scared for no reason. He is happy and sure that only him will win now as she’s in his team. Gangaa smiles broadly.
Niranjan is convinced finally. He tells the couple to take Gangaa with them tomorrow if they really want to adopt her. The couple, Prabha and Amma ji are relieved.
Sagar and Gangaa return home. He praises her to teaching a good lesson to the kids. Now I will show them how to fly a kite. They are confused seeing so many people at home. They
ask Maid and Maharaj ji, but only get to know that they have come to meet Gangaa. The kids are all the more confused. They notice Gangaa. Gangaa only goes forward to meet them when Madhvi calls her. She is made to sit between the couple.
Rashmi and her husband ask Gangaa about her likes and dislikes, but she is all quiet. Prabha handles the situation. Gangaa is feeling shy as she is meeting you for the first time. Amma ji speaks in agreement. Gangaa is a very lovely girl. We all dote on her a lot. Niranjan looks at her in surprise. Rashmi gives a lot of chocolates to Gangaa. Gangaa accepts it only when Niranjan tells her to. Sagar watches everything quietly in confusion from a distance.
Sagar comes to his father’s study. Niranjan is talking to Gangaa. Niranjan tells him to go to his room if he has no important work. I want to discuss something important with Gangaa. Please close the door as you leave. Sagar obliges. He sits outside on a chair, so he can find out what’s happening as soon as his father comes out.
Niranjan talks to Gangaa regarding Gupta’s. You got so many chocolates from them as you are a good girl. A good girl should have a good house too. Gangaa talks about his house. I love your house a lot and it is very beautiful and huge too. He talks about her dream of having a family. Gangaa points out at the good attributes of the members of his family one by one. I feel very good here.
Sagar asks his mother about the discussion going on inside? Who were those who came over in the evening? They brought chocolates for Gangaa and not me! Amma ji tells him the truth. She convinces him somehow that it shouldn’t matter to him if a (that) girl leaves the house. Sagar too agrees. He understands that this is what his father is discussing with Gangaa inside his study room.
Niranjan explains it all to Gangaa. Just as you don’t have a mother, Rashmi ji and her husband too don’t have a baby. They will keep you with them as their own daughter. Gangaa finds it unbelievable, but Niranjan calmly explains to her that it can happen. They want to take you home with them. They will educate you, teach you. They will become your parents. She points out that her parents are her Bappa and Maiyya. He nods and says no one can take their place in your life. They must be worried for you. They will feel good and relieved if someone offers to take care of you. She leaves the decision to him. He is all emotional. I think you should go. This is the best for you or I would have never told you to go. Gangaa is sad, but agrees as he is saying so. She leaves from there quietly without saying another word to him.
Next morning, Prabha comes to Chaturvedi House. She meets Amma ji. I have fixed everything. They will be coming before the dinner time. Amma ji is tensed thinking about Sagar’s reaction. Gangaa comes there. She asks about Sagar? Amma ji replies that he has gone to school. And what’s with the silly question? Maharaj ji brings tea for them. He also has a cup of tea ready for Niranjan. Gangaa offers to take it today. I am leaving this house today, so I felt like doing this. Amma ji agrees. Prabha tells her to get ready after giving tea to Niranjan ji since Rashmi ji and her husband should be here anytime from now. Gangaa goes upstairs to give the tea to Niranjan. Maharaj ji is not so happy with the decision, but he knows that he cannot do anything, so he keeps quiet. Prabha knows that this girl is a drama queen, but she will have to leave from this house today no matter what!
