They are all sitting in the hall with curtain between the men and the women. The Minister informs them that the situation in Jodhpur is not good. Jalal says I’ll see to it. Bharmal gifts Jalal sword and jewels. Jalal gifts him some seat in the ministry and gives him coins and money and Bharmal has to send forces whenever the Mughals need it. Bharmal looks at Jodha and agrees. Jalal ask for food and they refuse saying they can’t even drink water at their daughter’s house. Jalal says he wanted to taste the food made by Jodha. Bhagwant das praises her food, as she makes quality ones. Jalal says she is very good at everything and will make the food then. Jodha thinks why did Bhagwan das praised me in front of him now? He has one more moment to insult me.
Jodha is in the Kitchen and thinks I’ll not give him anymore moments now to insult her. She tells Moti that the person she hates the most, is the same one, she’s making food for now. Moti tells her to think of it, as if it’s just her Parents she’s making the food for.
Maham Anga comes in and says we have this rule that I taste the food first before giving it to Jalal. Jodha looks up and nods. Maham Agna eats the food and says you cook very well. Jodha leaves and Maham Anga’s servant puts a lot of spice in the food.
Jodha serves the food to Jalal. Maham Agna asks him to start eating. He takes a bite. Maham Anga thinks that now, Jalal will vent out his anger on Jodha! But Jalal keeps on eating the food, though it’s hurting him immensely, his eyes get watered. The Servant gives him water and he gets up, washes his hands and leaves the place in anger. Everyone including Maham Agn are surprised. Jodha sees the plate and she’s left wondering.
Jalal in anger, comes to his room. Maham Anga comes and ask you are right why you left your food in the middle? He ask her to bring Jodha here! Maham Anga pretends not to know a thing and ask why? Did she perhaps made any mistake?
Bhagwant das wonders whether Jalal likes it or not. Jodha says she had tasted it and the food was good. Maham Anga comes and informs Jodha that Jalal wants to meet her. She goes to his room. He is drinking water. Jodha ask why you called me? Jalal ask why you did a cheap move! Jodha is confused. Jalal says the best cook wants me take one bite of their food and you made me that food, but still I remain calm, because I made a promise to you! Jalal says but you took advantage of that… Now, I will show you your real place! Jodha says I am not scares of you. Jalal ask what? Jodha says I didn’t make any mistake. Jalal says the tongue that burnt because of you can order to kill you… how dare you put spice in my food! Jodha says I didn’t put it. Jalal says so someone else did that? Jodha says I respect food a lot. And I love my family and came to you, I did fulfil your condition which i didn’t want, so I can’t do this. Jalal says so you care about your family more than my burnt tongue? Jalal says okay I will go and tell Bharmal about our relationship! Jalal leaves.
Jodha is crying saying I did a big mistake, why did I fight with him? Now, he will tell Bharmal everything. Moti is consoling her.
Here Jalal is with Bharmal and says I want to talk with you, not as a King, but as a Son in-law.
Jodha says my Parents thinks I am happy here.
Jalal says I am telling you the right thing. Bharmal is shocked. Jalal says your daughter didn’t tell you this.
Menewati comes to Jodha and says you said you are happy here, but what is this Jalal has told us that you want us to stay here a little longer? Jodha is stunned and thinks he wants to use my Parents against me. Menewati says she was really worried for her before the marriage, but Jalal is very good. Jodha nods. She continues that her father has agreed to stay here, a little longer and leaves.
Jodha is talking with Lord, saying he made them stay here, a little longer so that they can torture her, as he (Jalal) wants me to smile in front of everyone and cry in silence. Jodha says you are seeing all this, but why aren’t you doing anything about it?
Ruqaiya is laughing with Jalal and says she will not stay here in Agra any longer. Jalal says after today, she has to stay here. Ruqaiya says why don’t you give her simple punishment? Jalal says her punishment is that she has to wear a smiling face in front of everyone. Ruqayia says you are playing chess in real life. Jalal eats spices. Ruqayia ask what are you doing? He says making my body used to spice. Ruqayia says Maham Anga was right about one thing, that she wants to snatch away that thing, you do not have. He ask what? She says ‘HEART’. She says Jodha wants you to hate her and you are doing just that. You are the same one who fought with millions of people, and has the habit of writing your name with a sword, but get defeated by Jodha. He fumes and leaves.
Jodha is murmuring. Jalal comes from behind. She says I have to bear all this with a smile. Why he brought my Parents in between? He only thinks of his hatred and doesn’t respect my Parents. She thinks Moti is the one behind her and ask her to give her the plate. He gives it. Jodha says he can’t bear Amer’s spice and asks how he will bear Amer’s girl (princess)? She ask Moti why is she not saying anything?
Jodha turns and she’s shocked saying you were listening to others’ talk from behind? Jalal says I have the right to listen to talks about me. Jodha says you made my life a game and also involved my Parents. Jalal says this is what I want! I will make you so scared of me, which is why I stopped your Parents, so as to keep thinking of what I will do to you next. You put my mind on fire by that spice and now, I will burn your life with it. It’s my promise to you! He leaves. Jodha is shocked.
Jalal comes to Ruqaiya. She is in her bath tub and says your silence is saying Jodha answered you back, and you will not remain silenced, and that’s why you stopped her Parents from going back immediately. Jalal says that’s why I always say you know me the best. Ruqaiya says you are giving her much importance than she deserves. Let’s play chess after the bath. I have an idea related to Jodha. Jalal says so you are in my game, so what will you do? She says I will play chess with her. Jalal says and you will win and she will get insulted! She says but I want something. He ask what? She says your tongue that you will do whatever I say? Jalal agrees and says you have to crush her arrogance. Ruqayia says Jodha has lost the minute you decided that I play against her. Jalal leaves and she thinks of Jodha’s words and says now, it will be fun.
Adham Khan is drinking and murmuring something. His wife comes in, and he is seeing moti in her. He holds her and says I got you after much difficulty and gets mushy mushy with her. He throws her on the bed thinking Moti is smiling at him and the scene cuts.
Some little boy is running and her Mom is behind her. He hides in Jodha’s room. She ask for his name and talks with him. She laughs. Her mother comes in and greets Jodha. Jodha says he is very cute. She informs her that she’s Jalal’s wide and he’s Jalal’s son. Jodha stands for a while, then says you are nice. They leave.
Adham Khan has some people with him, slapping them. He presents them to Jalal and says they are betrayers! Jalal ask how? Adham Khan shows him Hindu King’s flag and throws it away. The flag lands in Jodha’s feet and she gets angry.
Adham Khan throws the flag away and it lands at Jodha’s feet. She picks it up with respect and comes to Adham Khan. Jalal is also standing there, he looks at her. Jodha gives the flag back to Adham Khan and says if it was Mughal’s flag, could he have withstand it? ‘Flag’, she says, is identified as dignity irrespective of the nation. Adham Khan says they made a mistake! She says have you seen any weapon in their hand? Adham Khan says it is not allowed to bring other flags into the Mughal’s territory. Jodha says I love my land and flag too and you also do the same, so that means, we will also get punishment, they are artist not terrorist! Jalal interrupts and says it’s political issue, you better stop! She ask her to leave and she complies.
Jalal ask where they belong to? They say they are from Jodha’s place, Amer. They show their talent in every region, and nothing of this sort has happened in other regions. Jalal ask about the flag? They say it’s their inspiration for singing, just like the sword is for him. Jalal looks at Adham Khan and says to leave them, as there is no mistake of them.
Jalal then invites them for the feast that has been arranged in honor of King Bharmal. Adham Khan tries to accuse Jalal for letting the enemy free and he normally, doesn’t give punishment to those who are arrested by him (Adham Khan). Jalal then ask him to go to Agra and catch the criminals there! Adham khan again feels insulted by this treatment and vows to take revenge against Jalal one day!
Menewati says to Jodha that she wants to make her ready for this ceremony with her own hands, as she might never get a chance to do so in the future. Jodha is very happy with this wish and says to make her ready. Just then, Hameeda bano enters Jodha’s room and says I want to make
her ready for the event as now, I am her mother and I have full right and Menewati had already lost her right to get Jodha ready.
Jodha is getting ready for the function with Hamida bano helping her. Menewati watches her as Jodha is all decked up with jewelry and fineries.
The feast/celebration starts and in Court, Jalal ask everyone to sit and ask to present the gift to Bharmal and his family. They are pleased with the gifts. Jalal ask to start the feast. The same artist (Adham Khan called betrayals, and were later invited to attend the feast by Jalal) performs in the celebration. Jodha confirms it with Moti that they are same people and thinks Jalal is up to something to insult her. They perform with Rajputana’s flag. Adham fumes while others are pleased.
Suddenly Jalal imagines Jodha dancing between the artists and waving the flag. He comes out of his dream and looks at Jodha and smiles. She also looks at him. The performance ends and Bharmal says he liked his gesture very much and says you proved relationship can be made between Hindus and Mughals. Jalal says there is a chess game in this feast as well and says it will be played with emotions not mind and looks at Jodha.
Jalal announces that who ever wins, I’ll give her a promise that whatever she wants me to do, I’ll fulfill her wish and announces that one player, is the great player, Ruqayia. Ruqayia gets up and says I want to choose the other player myself. Jalal gives her the permission. She says Hindus-Mughals will play now. And I want Jodha to play against me.
