A LEAP IN TIME
Soul talk- Jodha says time passed by and 8 years passed away, now our son Salim was of 9 years old.
Salim is shown running behind a Pigeon, he grabs one Pigeon and caresses him.
Soul talk- Jalal says it was true, my Shekhu (Salim) used to think from only the heart like Queen Jodha.
Salim frees the pigeon and makes him fly in the sky.
Soul talk- Jalal says our child was different, Jodha says he was mischievous.
Salim is making Nadela learn archery, he ask her to hit the sky, she hits the Pigeon in the sky, they both run to grab the Pigeon falling on the ground, Salim grabs the Pigeon before it falls on ground and lovingly looks at him.
Salim puts water on the Pigeon’s wound and says I will treat you, another child, Murad (a Mughal Prince who is the second surviving Son of Mughal Emperor Akbar, foster child of Queen Salima) comes and says this is mine, I have hunted him, Salim says it’s very bad, look how cute he is. Murad ask for his Pigeon back, Salim says no, I saved it so I won’t give it, Murad ask him to give him the Pigeon, the children starts fighting on the Pigeon, they all beat each other when the Soldier comes and separates them, Murad says okay, let’s go to father, he will decide!
Jalal is practicing sword fighting with one guy, both are fighting with two swords, the guy corners Jalal, Jalal too grabs him, Jalal says very well done Khan-e-Khana (Probably Rahim), I am happy to get a learner like you, Jalal says don’t thinks from the heart when you are in War.
Salim and Murad comes there. Salim says to Jalal that Murad hunted a Pigeon and I saved this Pigeon, so he is mine, besides, Mother says that we should not hit animals. Murad says you also hunt father?
Jodha comes there, Jalal says I am understanding the matter, Murad you hunted the Pigeon, but Salim saved him, and the Saviour is greater than the Hunter, so the Pigeon is of Salim Jodha says you all are brothers, so you shouldn’t fight, stay with love. Jodha gives them all sweet offering, they take it and eats. Jodha then gives Jalal, he takes it too, all the Children greet Jalal and leaves.
Jodha stops Salim and says why did you play in the mud? Jalal says he is a Child, anyways, today is Humayun’s birthday, I want to gift poor people, there will be a ceremony, he leaves from there.
Jodha ask Salim to come, you have to take bath, Salim says again? Jodha says yes.
Murad is with Salima, he says that Jalal always favours Salim, I am angry with him! Salima says you are wrong, Jalal was right, a Saviour is greater than the Hunter, Salim is elder to you, you should respect him, Murad says I am Jalal’s Son too, Salima says but he’s the heir to the throne, he will be next King, you should respect him, Murad says I hunted that Pigeon, it was mine, I didn’t do anything wrong! Salima says you didn’t listen to what Jalal said to you.
Salim is taking bath in the royal bath tub, Jodha says you should make Murad understand, but not fight with him, you should have talked to him, he is your younger brother you should not raise hand to him, Salim says the Pigeon would have died if I wasted time in talking.
Javeda’s Son, Adham comes to her and says Jalal also killed many Pigeons but now, he is saying that the Saviour is greater, I have seen lion’s head in his room, Jalal is biased! Javeda says don’t talk like this, Adham says why not?? I know how Jalal is, he killed my father, he had put my grandmother (Maham) in jail, he is against me!! Javeda slaps him and ask him to stop it!
Jodha gets ready in her room, Zakira says today is Humayun’s birthday, so Marium Zamani (Ultimate Queen) should look good.
Jalal comes there and says aren’t you ready? she says I am, Jalal looks at her, and says one thing is less? Jodha ask what? Jalal puts black spot under her ear and says be safe from evil eye, he ask about Salim? Jodha says he is not ready, Jalal says he is my son, how he saved Pigeon, I am impressed, he is my Son after all. Jodha says when he is naughty, then he is my Son? And when he does good, then he is your Son? Jalal says he took just after me, Jodha says now he have traits like me, I can give three reasons to prove that;
First reason, he thinks from the heart like me,
Secondly, I also saved Pigeon in Amer just like this,
Thirdly, when you and Ruqaiya were about to kill a Deer in the Jungle, I saved him by litting fire in the Jungle.
Jalal smiles and says you have got the point, okay, I accept that he too after you, now happy?
Ruqaiya comes to Jalal and Jodha, she ask where is Salim? I have prepared a special outfit and jewelry from him, Salim comes there and says to Jodha that I am looking good in the outfit you gave to me, Jodha says you will also like Ruqaiya’s outfit, Salim says no, I will wear only this, this is my favourite Colour! Ruqaiya says in which Salim is happy, I am happy too, Salim is looking nice, he is a King, he can do anything, she ask Hoshiyar to put the outfit she brought in a corner, she kisses Salim and says be safe from evil eye, Jodha smiles.
Hamida prays for Humayun’s soul, Salima comes there and says there is a ceremony in which Salim will give gifts to the poor, Hamida ask where is my Prince? Salim comes there and hugs her, he says I am here Dadi jaan (Grandmother), he ask how I am looking? Hamida says you are looking lovely, he ask why are you crying Grandma, tell me did anyone say anything to you? I will punish him! Hamida says when my Grandson is with me, then can anyone say anything to me?
Salim wipes his tears and says I know you are missing Grandfather, don’t worry I will marry you when I grow up, all laughs. Hamida says you cant marry me, he says why not? When Jalal can marry my Mother, then I can marry his Mother too. Hamida says Grandsons doesn’t marry their Grandparents.
Salim says to Jodha that you always say that Wives cook for husbands, Grandma does that for me, so why can’t I marry her? Jodha says you can’t do this with Grandma. Hamida says when you grow up to marry, maybe I would have left this world by then, Salim says I won’t let you go away from me! Hamida hugs him.
Salim is sitting in the weighing machine, in the otherside of the weighing machine, gold is put to calculate his weight, Murad and Adham are jealous, Murad says to Salima that I want this too, Salima says it’s Salim’s turn, the last piece of gold is put by Jalal, Jodha and Ruqaiya, the weighing machine moves.
Jalal says to Maan and Rahim to be with Salim and distribute this gold to the people, Maan agrees.
Salim is with Maan and Rahim, Salim touches things and then gives it to the poor, Salim listens to some music noise and turns to see it, he then goes to see it, Rahim goes behind him. Salim follows the music, Rahim ask where are you going? Salim says I am just going to see where this music is coming from, Rahim says I am standing here waiting for you.
Salim comes to one room and finds girls learning classical Kathak dance, his eyes is stuck on one girl, he smiles seeing her dance.
Salim smiles seeing Anarkali dance, in her dance, she loses her ghungroos (Musical Anklets) from her feet, Salim take the ghungroos, Anarkali comes to Salim and says it’s mine, give it back to me, Salim says I am Prince Salim and I like it, so I won’t give it to you, Anarkali says what you like, you will take it, my mother gifted this to me, Salim says you lost it and I gained it, so it’s mine, Anarkali give the other piece of pair to him and says pairs should not break, take this ghungroos too, take it as a gift, Salim says how will you now dance without the ghungroos?
Anarkali says noise can’t come from only them, she brings a plate and dances on it, the plate makes the noise, Anarkali says to Salim that take these ghungroos, It will help you. Salim says how dare you talk like this to would be King?? Anarkali says you are so small like the finger of a King, when you grow up and become King then come back, you will get respect then.
Jalal comes to have lunch with his whole family, all greets him, Jalal sits and says to all to start eating, Salim is weeping, Murad says to Adham that Salim have some ghungroos, as it’s making noise. Jalal ask from where this noise is coming from? One child says that Salim is hiding something, Jalal ask Salim, Murad grabs the ghungroos from Salim and says this is what Salim was hiding, Jalal ask from where did you find these ghungroos (Musical Anklet)? Salim says I was playing so… he is afraid of Jalal.
Jalal ask Salim to put these ghungroos on the floor, Jalal takes out his sword and puts it near the ghungroos. Jalal says to Salim that now you have to decide that you like King’s sword or these ghungroos? He then says that I think you like just this sword, Salim runs and goes to Jalal, Jalal ask what happened? Salim says this sword is very heavy, Jalal ask what you like? Salim says I like the noise of the ghungroos, I am afraid of the sword, Jalal says you don’t know anything about sword, I will make you learn sword fighting, all children have to learn it, I will tell/proof to you guys that sword have more noise than ghungroos (Musical Anklet).
Salim is with Jodha, he ask if Jalal is angry with him? Jodha says he will be pacified, tell from where did you find these ghungroos? Salim says they are of that egoistic and disrespectful girl, she is younger than me, but seems older, she talks big, Jodha says why did you bring her ghungroo? Salim says she was insulting me, Jodha says it’s wrong, you are a King, you should gift people, Salim says I found them lying on the floor, Jodha says everything is not yours and what will you do with these? You should return it back to her. Salim says this is mine and I won’t give it back and I won’t give it to that egoistic girl!
Jodha says you don’t like girls? Salim says yes, I don’t like girls, they are egoistic! jodha says you will like them when you grow up, Jodha says I am also a woman, Salim says you and Hamida are different, Jodha ask what did you say to the girl? Salim says I told her that I am would be King, so she said that I am smaller than a King’s finger and to come to her when I become King, and only then will she give me respect! Jodha laughs.
Jodha says always respect girls, if someone is more intelligent than you, then you should accept it and be friends wirh them, when anyone knows that you are the Son of a King and even then, he/she teaches you the right thing, then he/she is your real friend, now you give back these ghungroos to her, Salim agrees to return it to her.
Zil Bahar scolds Anarkali for bickering with Prince Salim! Anarkali says I gave him the second ghungroos too, he is the King and he was fighting for ghungroos! Zil Bahar says we are very small in front of them, you can talk to him like this, we are living here with Jalal’s blessing, Anarkali says I want my ghungroos back!
Jodha comes to Jalal and says I know you are tensed for Salim? Jalal says I know what to do, Jodha says I trust you, but remember he is very small, Jalal says I know and I also like music, Salim is my Successor, so I want him to know the importance of the sword, Jalal says Salim is my child and I will handle him politely, Jalal says he has taken after you, Jodha says at least you accepted that fact, Jalal says you know, when I saw you for the first time, I was laughing, Jodha says you didn’t like me? Jalal says you were very small, like a child, Jodha says you always put off my mood, I am going! Jalal holds Jodha’s hand and says I like you a lot and that’s why I love Salim too, he hugs Jodha.
Ruqaiya is looking at the dance of the girls. After the dance, Ruqaiya praises the girls and throws her jewelry at them, the girls takes the jewelry and leaves. Ruqaiya recalls how Salim had ghungroos with him, Ruqaiya says now, I know his interest, he doesn’t like Sword, but ghungroos (Musical Anklets), this thing is in my favour!
Salim along with other children comes to the Sword fighting area, there are many ghungroos and Swords there. Murad says we are in this problem because of Salim!
Jalal comes there, Salim is afraid, Hamida says I don’t know what Jalal is up to, Ruqaiya says Jalal will decide everything rightly, Jalal ask Salim to stand in a corner, he stands there.
Tansen comes there with girls, Rahim says to Salim that you have to keep your focus on only Jalal, don’t look at the dancing girls, as Jalal won’t like it.
On one side, the girls start dancing to the noise of the ghungroos (Musical Anklets).
On the other side, Jalal starts his fight with his Soldiers.
Tansen is playing instrument, after he stops the instrument, Jalal starts his fight and makes noise with his sword, then he stops and the girls makes noise with ghungroos, this cycle goes on, Salim keeps his focus on only Jalal, and doesn’t even for once look at the girls. Jalal stops and goes to Salim, he looks at Salim.
