Ruqayia is distributing gifts to Jalal’s wives and also sorts out one of the wives, for her ill behaviour towards the maids.
Hoshiyar comes and informs her about Jodha’s use of her wish to saving Moti. The other wives gloats about how she (Ruqaiya) used hers for her own benefit and asked for 100 days/nights from Jalal. One of the wife pointed out, that Jodha, has proved that she is different and Ruqaiya gets wild with anger!
Jalal gets ready to practice the sword. He spots someone practising with a covered face. He goes near that person and both come face to face. They get into the sword fight (Must watch scene).
Ruqaiya sees a part of this fight and leaves. They are fighting, and finally. Jalal disarms Jodha and puts his sword at her neck, removes her veil, and asks why did she use her wish for a maid and not for her freedom, his head or other luxuries? Jodha is feeling the heat of Jalal’s proximity, but didn’t say anything and swiftly takes his sword and points it at his heart. Jalal is amazed.
Jalal pushed her away and her hair gets uncovered. They look at each other and Jodha says you lost your attention and I would say, you are defeated. Jalal is about to go when she points a sword at his heart and ask him not to leave, else he will be dead. Jalal says wrong hit, as I have no heart. Jodha says one can’t survive without a heart and she’s about to leave when Jalal says you are the first one to defeat me, but why didn’t you kill me? Jodha says she can’t kill an empty handed person. Jalal says I lost, but it wasn’t my fault, it was the fault of your beauty and leaves, smiling. Jodha is stunned, happily.
Ruqaiya is eating apple and fuming, remembering the sword fight between Jalal and Jodha and their proximity towards each other. She gets up and takes out the sword. She is about to uncover it when Jalal holds her back and says you are good at hunting not sword fighting, you must have seen me fighting with Jodha, which explains why you are doing this, but it’s not needed now, or will you fight against me? She says your enemy will do just that like Jodha, but I am happy you have avenged me by making her (Jodha) lose in fight. Jalal says it’s wrong, she is that good, as she was in chess. Ruqayia says don’t say good thongs about your enemy. Jalal says but she is super-duper talented. Ruqaiya says but not more than you. He ask of she’s jealous? She retorts this harem/women quarters is hers, and to play with it and you need mind, not weapon, unlike Jodha who can’t run a harem. Jalal says till now, he thought of same thing, but it isn’t the case. Ruqaiya jokingly says it seems you like Jodha? Jalal says not at all, we have to make her lose and he remembers her exact words about his ‘heart’ and says it is to be known whether to win her heart or mind.
Jodha says to Moti that nothing will happen by taking bath, but will do prayer first. She looks at Lord and couldn’t find his instrument and hears its sound. It is Rahim (Bairam Khan’s Son) who is playing. He runs and Jodha runs behind him and ask him to stop. He says I will give it back, but first catch me. They are running and Rahim falls into the water pool. Jodha is stunned and jumps into the water. She saves him and hugs him. She takes him out.
His Mother, Salima comes and ask what happened to Rahim? Jodha says nothing to worry about, as he was just running and fell into the pool.
Maham Anga sees all this and says it was not the child’s fault, but the fault of someone who is childish, even though she’s an adult, taunting Jodha indirectly. She ask Jodha to come with her to Jalal right now! Jodha looks at Rahim and goes with her.
Now Jodha and Maham Anga is with Jalal. Jalal ask, was it a place to play with Rahim? He says there were soldiers and all around, and you were in the pool, openly with him! He says there are some rules of the harem/women quarters and there’s veil between soldiers and Mughal’s wives and if you don’t know those rules, then ask my Aunt/foster mother (Maham Anga) for the rules!
Jodha says enough…! And explains to him everything that happened, and that Rahim fell into the pool. Jodha asks are your Mughal rules more important or a Child’s life is? I did that for him, to save his life. Maham Anga changes her tone and says Jodha is right, we had a misunderstanding, I am really… I just saw her in the pool and thought wrongly, it was my mistake, I apologize.
Jalal says misunderstanding can develop in anyone. I also had that, so that doesn’t mean you need to apologize, as you are my mother. He says to Jodha it was my responsibility to ask you why you were in the pool, and you did more than good by saving Rahim.
Jodha curtly says I just want to go from here, let me be, and leaves angrily. Jalal looks on.
Jalal enters the Court and brought Shariffudden in front of him. He praises his skills in Mewar and Amer and gives him responsibility of another state, but says before going, give back the money and precious things which they got in Amer war back to them. Shariffudden is dumb shocked.
Outside the Court, Rahim tricked the Soldiers, by telling them to look up to see what that is, and quickly runs into the Court. Here, Jalal orders Shariffudden to attack the revolters in his territory.
Rahim comes to Jalal and playfully tells him about how sweet Aunt (Jodha) was, and she’s his new friend. Jalal smiles.
Shariffudden comes to his wife and beats her up in frustration, for defeating Amer after winning it, just because of her brother, but being forced to return the territories and wreaths. He is just like Jalal’s slave and follows his wrong orders and can’t even say a word just like his Servant! He fumes.
Jalal enters the harem/women quarters. All his wives are happy and try to impress him. But he goes straight to Jodha. He just stands there silently. Jodha thinks he was pulling her scarf, and has her back to him. She ask what he’s doing, as he promised her that he won’t forcefully do anything to her, then what is all this? She turns to face him. She sees him smiling and looks down as it’s not Jalal, but Rahim clinging on to her scarf. Jodha and Jalal looks at each other (eye lock). Jodha is embarrassed while Jalal is smiling.
Jalal takes Rahim in his lap and takes him away playfully while Jodha keeps looking.
The other wives are surprised that he came to Jodha’s room and concludes that actually, Jalal loves children and Jodha has learned this and smiles.
Shariffudden remembers how he slapped and taunted Jalal’s sister, and thinks what did he do? He made her cry, the one Jalal can’t see crying but only in happiness. He goes back and picks Bakshi from the ground and says he was angry and that was why he acted so rashly with her. He says he is really… He wasn’t in his senses, he really doesn’t deserve her. Bakshi stops him and says don’t talk like this, you are my husband. He says he doesn’t deserve her ring, but Bakshi makes him wear it and says it’s okay. He says apply rose water on your cheeks so that nobody can see the fingerprints of his slap on her face. She says it’s the matter between the husband and the wife, so he shouldn’t worry, as she’ll apply it and nobody will know what happened and says very soon, Jalal will praise him. She leaves.
Shariffudden cunningly says he wants the throne, not praise. He married a widow so that he could reach the throne and she’s just a mere way to the throne!
Bakshi (Jalal’s sister) comes to Jodha and greets her. Jodha is happy to see her and ask her if there’s any work? She says is work required to meet you? Jodha says no. Bakshi shows her some jewelry that she brought for Jodha, it’s design is same as that of Amer’s jewelry. Bakshi says she’s giving her as a gift to always have a feeling of her home with it. Jodha is elated seeing it and her eyes sees the fingerprints on Bakshi’s face and ask are you alright? Bakshi hides it through her scarf and says it’s nothing. She diverts the topic and says you are happy here? Jodha is silent. Bakshi says Jalal is this way and for things to change, it will take some time. Jodha says you are right, every wound heals with time, as time can heal anything. Jodha now gets up from her place and sets Bakshi’s scarf well and gives her some jewelry from her own side.
Jalal and Ruqaiya are in the room, playing riddle games. Jalal gives the right answer, but Ruqayia couldn’t guess the answer, so Rahim comes and answers it. Jalal says I promised him to spend some time with him. Ruqaiya made Rahim sit on bed and ask what game he wants to play? He says that he used to play with his father… Salima comes to take him away.
But Jalal says it’s alright. Jalal ask what game Uncle Khan used to play with him? He says he used to become a horse and he rides on his back. Jalal says the one who is running the entire India, you really want him to make him a horse? Rahim says you promised to play with me. Jalal becomes the horse and Rahim rides on him.
Ruqaiya becomes teary eyed. Jalal remembers his ride too and Uncle Khan says he is tired. Salima thanks him. Jalal says he just wants to give him sweet memories of childhood. And it is nothing in front of what Uncle Khan did for him.
Salima says some Couplet. Jodha comes and praises it. Salima remembers Bairam Khan who once said that Couplet is for her. She says life was beautiful when Bairam was there. There is nothing left now. Jodha says but Rahim is with you. Salima says he is my Step son. He was the son of Bairam Khan’s other wife, and he is lucky to have gotten a teacher like Jalal, as he became a horse today, for him to ride on. Jodha is stunned and remembers his punishment for that other family in his Court, and tells Salima about it.
Salima informs her that Jalal didn’t give them any punishment. He has a heart, which can be seen when he is around Rahim, today, she saw Ruqayia in tears. Jodha says Ruqaiya? Salima informs her that Ruqayia was just eight years old when they got married. They become used to each other. Ruqaiya started to show her rights on him and Jalal used to accept everything about her, but Ruqaiya couldn’t give him the happiness of life – A child. They are a happy couple, yet, there’s a void of their own child. Jodha is in a contemplative mood and she’s intently listening.
Hamida bano is with a religious personality (Priest). Jodha comes and greets her, and says you called me? She says yes sit.
Now Jalal comes in and says to Hamida bano, that you called me? Hamida bano says I wanted the newly wedded Couple to take the blessing of the Priest. They both sit side by side. The Priest gives them his blessing and says their Couple will be remembered in the history of Mughals and soon, the Mughals will get its heir. Jalal looks at Jodha. She looks down. Hamida bano says I am happy with this news and will go on feet to Ajmer Sharif and will return on feet. Jalal interrupts and says you are taking it a bit serious. Jodha agrees. Hamida bano says once said, it’s said and has to be done. Jalal-Jodha gets up and Jalal comes down and he’s about to leave, but turns around and gives his hand to Jodha. She has no option, as everybody including Hamida bano is looking at them. She gives her hand to him to get down. Jalal smiles while Jodha is embarrassed. Background song plays… They share an eye lock and Jalal leaves.
Jalal just finished praying when Jodha comes and tells him to come up with a situation where Hamida bano can be dissuaded from going to Ajmer. Both have a slight bickering look and argue. Then Jalal tells her to put up a facade, as he had put in front of her Parents, to make believe that Jodha is carrying his child, and asks her to make a promise by putting her hand on his head. Jodha is hell shocked at what she’s hearing.
