Prabha finally reaches the station. She spots Sagar in the crowd and notices Gangaa too. She turns around and gets inside the train.
She signals Rashmi to come aside with the baby. Her husband too follows her.
Meanwhile, Sagar spots Gangaa. She gets happy to see him there. He too is very happy to finally find her. I came from so far to give this gift to you. You helped me in the competition. I won it because of you. Please accept it. I know you are upset with me as I didn’t even thank you for helping me. But now I am saying so. Everyone has been calling me their hero now and it’s all because of you. I wouldn’t have won it if it wasn’t because of you. You too have an equal share in my victory. She stretches out her hand on his request and he ties the watch on her hand. She smiles broadly when
it is done. She loves her new watch.
Prabha tells the couple that she came running here as soon as she found out that the boys have come here to look for Gangaa. Our game would have been over if Pulkit and Sagar have seen this baby.
Niranjan reaches the station. He meets Pulkit outside and they both go in together to look for Sagar. Prabha decides to leave before either of the kids notices her. Niranjan gives his mobile to Pulkit in case he gets lost again. They start looking for Sagar together. Prabha stops in her tracks as she notices Niranjan. She covers her head with her saree’s pallu (the loose end of her sari) and turns around just when Niranjan walks past her. Pulkit collides with Prabha, but she gestures that she is alright. Niranjan tells him to be careful. They all then go separate ways. Prabha only wishes that the train leaves as soon as possible or her game will be over. Pulkit is worried what if they don’t find Sagar? Niranjan scolds him for not thinking about it when they left the house without telling anyone. This is why I tell you all to listen to your elders. I don’t lecture you for no reason. He calms down after noticing the sad face of his son. I will look in the train and you should look at the station. Pulkit stops him. What if the train starts moving? Niranjan assures him that he will get down safely.
It is time for the train to leave. Sagar tells Gangaa that the announcement has been made. Guard will show green flag to the train after which it will start moving now. Gangaa too wants to see the green flag, but he tells her to sit at her place. What if the train starts moving? They decide to stay in touch with each other through phone. He knows that his brother must be looking for him. I should go. they wave bye to each other. Gangaa looks happily at her watch.
Rashmi is relieved that Prabha took them aside at the right time or Sagar would have found out the truth. They return to their seats. Gangaa is looking at her new watch.
Sagar finds Pulkit. Pulkit hugs his younger brother. I was so scared. Where did you go to? Sagar says I found Gangaa and gave her the gift. She is very happy. Now you won’t call me selfish, right? I have said thank you to her for her help. Pulkit is proud of his little brother.
Niranjan was walking past Gangaa’s seat number when he hears the cries of the little baby. He is shocked to hear Rashmi’s husband’s words. We will be safe once we reach Delhi. Gangaa is there to take care of the baby. Gangaa suddenly looks in his direction and is glad to see him there while the couple is shocked. Niranjan recalls his own words and what all Prabha had said to him to convince him to send Gangaa with the Guptas. He also realises what Gangaa was talking about the last time (a little Sister). He deduces that the little girl is the real daughter of the Guptas. Niranjan says you lied to us! Mr. Gupta begins to lie again but Niranjan doesn’t let him talk. You are not going to treat Gangaa as your daughter, but will make her a nanny to your baby! This is why you were in such a rush to adopt Gangaa. People start gathering around their seat to see what’s happening. Niranjan continues to scold them. You should be ashamed of yourselves. You have a baby, yet you lied to us. Child labour is a crime, be it in the office, home or factory. It is illegal to make little kids work. They have full right to study and play. You are parents, yet you do not understand it? You want to snatch a little girl’s childhood for your own daughter’s comfort? The Guptas are speechless. People too taunt them for their misdeed. Mr. Gupta gets up. We just want to give a better life to an orphan girl. Why don’t you take it this way that Gangaa will have a house to live in forever? We are going to take care of all her necessities. Niranjan refuses to call Gangaa an orphan. Who told you she doesn’t have a home, or has no one to take care of her necessities? He calls Gangaa to him and she goes and stands next to him without thinking for even a second. She is very happy to be with him again. He tells the couple that Gangaa doesn’t need anyone’s pity. She will live with me in my house with all the rights! Gangaa gets happy. He takes Gangaa’s bag from them. People clap for him and the Guptas’ felt embarrassed. Niranjan takes Gangaa with him. The entire compartment continues to clap for him all along. Gangaa looks at him proudly.
Sagar and Pulkit are waiting outside for their father. They too are very pleased to see Gangaa. Niranjan tells them that Gangaa will live with them only forever. Sagar is thrilled. It is good that I came here or you would have left with your new parents. They all decide to head home now as no one knows about anyone’s whereabouts.
Yash is eating something upstairs in the balcony. He notices Gangaa coming along with Niranjan, Sagar and Pulkit. He calls out for everyone at home. Everyone is here!
Amma ji and Prabha are taken aback to see Gangaa. Amma ji asks him why he brought Gangaa here? Prabha blurts out about the Delhi trip by mistake. Niranjan walks up to her. So you knew about it? Prabha fumbles. Mrs. Gupta called me, so that’s how I know. He is sure she must know about their family too? Amma ji covers up for Prabha. Niranjan questions his mother now. You find out everything about a person just by meeting him / her? how did you make a mistake this time? He scolds Madhvi too. She requests him to share the entire matter first. He tells them that the Guptas’ lied to them. They didn’t want a baby, but a maid for their own little girl. They were taking Gangaa with them as a nanny. Prabha starts thinking as Amma ji won’t spare her otherwise. Niranjan continues, Sagar and Pulkit made a very big mistake by going to the station to meet Gangaa without informing anyone, yet I found out about this truth because of them only. There would have been a very big problem otherwise. They would have made Gangaa do all the household work (child labour). Prabha too agrees with him, appreciates him for reaching the station on time. He sends the kids upstairs.
Niranjan is very angry with himself. How can I be so careless? I gave Gangaa to them without making any enquiry! Prabha says I cannot believe that the couple could turn out to be like this. I wouldn’t have done any of it if I had any idea about what her true intentions are. Niranjan still blames himself. I am a lawyer. I should have checked first. I trusted people just like that. Madhvi tells him not to blame himself. The girl is at home now, all safe and sound. What else do we want? He only wishes that this incident leaves no (bad) imprint on Gangaa’s mind. Madhvi assures him that she will shower so much love on Gangaa that she will forget everything. Prabha follows Amma ji inside. Niranjan knows that Gangaa is strong enough and can survive anything. I don’t want her to give up ever. Gangaa’s Bappa would have been so proud of her if he was here today.
Gangaa tells the kids about all what she used to do at the Gupta’s House. They even used to scold me a lot. Pulkit cracks a joke and does a high five with his brother. Sagar teaches Gangaa how to do high five. You do it when someone says something good. Gangaa is going to miss Rashmi’s daughter though. Sagar asks Gangaa if she won’t leave this house now? Madhvi comes there. No, she won’t go anywhere now. She gives milk to all the kids. Gangaa doesn’t like it. Sagar too refuses to drink it, but Madhvi says I won’t let my kids become weak. Gangaa asks her if she is also her kid? Madhvi agrees which makes Gangaa very happy. Gangaa takes the glass of milk finally. Madhvi sits down with the kids, next to Sagar actually. Pulkit and Sagar talk about the station incident. Gangaa keeps looking at Madhvi. She thinks of her Bappa.
Do you remember your Maiyya? How was she? Gangaa eyes Madhvi and Sagar longingly. She drinks milk when Madhvi tells her to.
Amma ji is upset with Prabha. You too are a mother, then how could you do it to her (Gangaa)? Didn’t you feel pity for her? Prabha replies that she was only helping her. Amma ji disagrees. I told you to find another house for Gangaa. I didn’t tell you to make her a maid in someone’s house. You only told me they wanted to take Gangaa in, as they had no one who could play with their daughter, but Niranjan told me that they used to make Gangaa do all the house work. You knew it? Prabha lies that she had no idea about how those people will be in reality. I cannot cheat you intentionally. Amma ji reminds her that it is Pulkit’s Upnayan ritual tomorrow. You are from Madhvi’s side, so make all the necessary preps for it. Prabha promises her that she will not give her any chance to complain. I know everything that I have to do. She takes Amma ji’s leave as she has to go home now.
Madhvi is with the kids. Pulkit asks Sagar a question. Gangaa gets his calculator for him on his request. Niranjan too gets busy in finding out the answer, but Pulkit makes an altogether different joke of the question. Niranjan pats him on his back for being naughty. Pulkit tells his mother that even Hitler couldn’t answer his question today. Niranjan is surprised, but Madhvi covers up as he has not gotten hold of the exact word. They both leave from the kid’s room and Pulkit heaves a sigh of relief.
Madhvi tells Niranjan that the house is alive again after Gangaa’s return. Amma ji asks Madhvi if she has made all the preps? Madhvi has already done everything. Amma ji instructs the maid on all what she would be doing tomorrow. She gives a list to Madhvi. She also tells Niranjan that he will have to attend the prayer tomorrow. He still has to go to the court for a while. She points out that this is the first prayer of Chaturvedi House. It should be done at a grand level with the bets preps and everything. Niranjan nods. Amma ji tells Madhvi to come to her room so they can make a list. Niranjan signals best of luck to her.
Next day, everyone is busy in the preps. Amma ji sends the kids outside to play. Niranjan is all set to leave for court. Niranjan informs Madhvi about it. I will be back before the prayer starts. Please handle everything till then. He runs out as he hears his mother calling out for Pulkit. Pulkit is not happy over the fact that he will have to wear dhoti. Gangaa sympathises with him, but Sagar is happy that he got an off today because of the prayer. Go and bring the cricket kit. We will play cricket. She rushes to his room. Sagar challenges Yash, but Yash is sure he only will win. The boys go outside.
Sudha (from the same widow Ashram) comes to Niranjan’s house along with many other ladies to meet Amma ji. Gangaa hides as she notices them. She won’t leave me if she spots me here. Sudah appreciates Amma ji for thinking about them at the time of the prayer. Amma ji introduces Madhvi and Prabha to them. She talks about Niranjan too. Amma ji guides them to the place where they are supposed to sit. Sudha is helping Pishi Ma when she notices Madhvi and Niranjan’s wedding photo. They both recall that he is the same man who protected Gangaa the other day.
Gangaa tells Sagar about Sudha. She has even brought the barber with him. I understand all her game now. This barber always accompanies him and she makes him cut the hairs of everyone. Sagar too agrees with her. Will she cut everyone’s hair now? What will happen now? She suggests running as fast as he can. I had made her run a lot that day. She cannot run for long. He is sad that he cannot run fast. I wish I had practised for some race.
Pulkit comes wearing dhoti. Priest tells him to go bald first. Gangaa feels that the priest is also on Sudha’s side. Amma ji talks about the tradition. Sudha explains everything to him. Pulkit reasons that he will have to go to school as well. Should I stay at home till my hair comes back? Gangaa is sure Sudha won’t agree to it. Pulkit should run away from here. Pulkit threatens Amma ji that he won’t also do the Upnayan ritual if they will continue to force him. Priest gives him another option. Just get few hairs chopped off in the name of Tonsure. Pulkit gets ready for it. A few ladies gossip about it saying it is easier to preach than follow. They always talk about religion, yet they are only bending the rules today, when it comes to their kids. Amma ji overhears this. She intentionally tells Sudha that the time is changing so they too should change with time. Sudha affirms. Everything is ok for the guys.
Gangaa says Sudha changed her statement completely. I was crying so much that day, but she didn’t listen to me. Sagar points out that she agreed as Pulkit is a boy. Gangaa finds it wrong. There should be no different rules for boys and girls. Sagar dismisses it. Let us go and play. She tells him to walk ahead. I will walk behind you.
Prabha is making kalash ready for the prayer. Yash tells her to let Dadi do it, but Prabha points out that Dadi cannot do it. She is a widow. It is considered inauspicious if a widow touches anything that is related to prayer.
Barber cuts a few ends of Pulkit’s hairs. Sagar and Gangaa manage to escape from there without anyone noticing them. They come running to where Prabha is. Prabha tells Gangaa to stay away from the kalash. Everything will be finished if you touch this kalash. Yash decides to get even with Gangaa now. Prabha leaves from there and takes the kalash with her.
Sagar tells Gangaa not to be sad after hearing what Prabha said. Let’s play. She smiles and they go out to play. Sagar calls Yash as well, but Yash has something going on in his mind.
The prayer starts. As per the ritual, Pulkit is supposed to sit in Madhvi’s lap, but he declines. I am not a kid. Amma ji advises him to sit ahead Madhvi then. Priest also agrees. Amma ji is waiting for Niranjan, but knows that it can take time. Priest starts explaining the importance of the kalash and the prayer.
Yash is not at all bowling happily which irks Sagar. Yash doesn’t want to play cricket as it is very hot. Sagar recommends scrabble, but then thinks that Gangaa will not be able to play it. Yash has an idea.
Sagar and Yash have blindfolded Gangaa and they bring her inside. Sagar tells her to be careful.
Dadi has told us not to go in between the prayer or where everyone is sitting. Gangaa cannot see anything. Yash says we will clap. You will follow us because of that sound. She nods. The game starts. Gangaa counts till 10 while both the boys run to a different corner. Yash smiles thinking of his mother’s words. Gangaa finishes counting. She tells them to clap. Sagar claps from one corner while Yash claps from the other side. Yash whispers something in Sagar’s ears. Sagar walks near Gangaa, claps and runs away. Yash comes next and claps from the opposite side. He intentionally brings her to where the prayer is going on. Gangaa collides with the kalash by mistake and all the contents fall on the floor.
Amma ji everyone is shocked. Sagar gets out of his hiding place. Amma ji scolds Gangaa for ruining the prayer. I had told you to play outside. Why did you come here then? Priest calls it a bad omen. Sudha asks Gangaa what she is doing here? Amma ji tells her that her son who is a lawyer by profession, who also wants to do social service as well, has brought her here. I had told him against it but he didn’t pay heed. See what she has done today? Sudha shares how Niranjan had fought with her for this girl Gangaa. This girl refused to abide by any rules of our Ashram. She even disagrees with what is written in the scriptures. This is why I threw her out of the Ashram. I had no idea that I will get to meet this stubborn girl once again at your house. The thing to wonder is that your discipline, rules had no effect on her. She is still as stubborn as she was! We all (widows) had come with so much devotion to attend this prayer. We sat at a corner so nothing goes wrong in your prayer because of us, but this girl ruined everything. Priest also repeats the same. Prabha also scolds Gangaa. I had told you to stay away from the kalash. You are so naughty. You cannot sit at one place for long. Amma is the eldest person of this house, yet she sat at a far corner, but you came and hit the kalash! Yash smiles. Sudha calls Amma ji a little careless. You would have understood what kind of a girl she is, then why didn’t you make her understand that she doesn’t have to be around this place? Being a widow you adhere to all the rules so strictly then you could have taught something to her as well. Your name has been maligned after all. Prabha is clearly enjoying the situation. We respect you and even try to follow you, but what will others understand if the traditions are not getting followed at your home itself? Other ladies also agree with Sudha. It is entirely your mistake. You are changing a little too much with time. You changed the rules for your grandson, we kept quiet, but now this is too much. The ladies decide to leave and even refuse to take the sacrament.
