SATURDAY UPDATE ON GANGAA S2, 30TH OF MARCH 2019

Gangaa remembers Sagar’s taunts, to prove that the notice is wrong. She eyes her family sleeping, and She’s tensed for them. She gets back to researching and starting afresh, without caring what time is it, until it’s morning. She leaves to freshen up. Raahat ma wakes up and finds Gangaa’s place empty and wonders where she went to? She calls up, and gets to know that Gangaa is already in the legal office, and says that she would come soon.
Gangaa waits, as she comes much earlier than even when the Office opens, and waits for the day to start. Raahat comes and they find the ladies coming in.
Sagar too comes with the Landlord, and then explains all the appropriate legal formalities, She cites this legal notice as all wrong and illegal. The Clerk is confounded into silence. Sagar eyes her tensedly. Gangaa shows how there isn’t any registered letter in Raahat’s name, for leaving the house. The Clerk orders the landlord to give the keys to Raahat! He does so resignedly. Sagar stands tensed.
Raahat maa profusely thanks Gangaa and the Lord for this. They hug as she wipes her tears. Raahat and her Landlord leave for final formalities. The Clerk gets a call and leaves. Sagar is about to go out, when Gangaa taunts him about his remarks, and how he had to fall flat on his face due to his wrong assumptions and characterisation about her and Raahat, and the other women in the house. He fumes, but resignedly hears her. She asks him what would happen when she finally becomes a lawyer, and confronts him, and says that she will also pursue her education with work, and prepare herself to stand up to people like him, who think about characterising a woman like this. He thinks that this is what he wanted, and he had to enact so that she could take the decision of pursuing her education.
At Raahat maa’s residence, the ladies are all happy and thankful to Gangaa for this. The old woman comes and congratulates them on their victory. The Landlord appears and asks them to pay for their 3 months rent, that is still pending, or else, she (Raahat) would have to be dragged again to Court. Raahat says that she would pay it. After he leaves, the old woman asks them to settle up their things. The girls are tensed. Raahat maa asks them not to worry and settle up things first, as they all comply.
Raahat tells Gangaa that she is very happy since she has decided to continue her education. Gangaa says that she is happy too and thankful to Sagar, because if he had not betrayed her, then she wouldn’t have gone ahead.
Rudra explains to Sagar, that what he did, will make Gangaa hate him forever. Sagar thinks that this was necessary, as she was on the wrong track for having discontinued her studies. He says that this means she hates him so much, and he was hurt by her stinging words, but he’s happy that it motivated her to go ahead with her studies.
Prabha hears this from a distance. Rudra praises him for his selfless act and asks if there is any hope to reconciliation? Sagar says that they’ve both gone ahead/moved on in life, and no doubt, there has been more differences everytime they unite, but now, that there is a third one, and that Gangaa has betrayed him! Rudra is tensed. Sagar says that uniting seems impossible now? Rudra denies it, saying nothing is known for now about what might happen, and when. He asks him to be strong.
Later, Gangaa gets Pulkit’s call, and attends to it and after exchanging greetings and niceties, he says that Supriya remembers her, and then extends his full support to her and her future. He then informs her about the award being rendered to Niranjan. Gangaa is overwhelmingly happy to have heard it, and says that he deserved it too. She also tells about her decision to go ahead and study. He says he will give her all the financial support. But she said she will also work as well. He understands and doesn’t force her, but extends to render whatever help she might need anyway. She promises him, as he swears to always be by her side. He hears Madhvi calling for him, and he ends the call. Gangaa is happy. She is tensed as she thinks about something.
Madhvi serves her husband, tea and he’s about to take it, when Amma ji comes to have tea with him as well. They discuss about the award ceremony. He gets a call, and it’s Gangaa, who freezes when she hears his voice. He hollers, but doesn’t get any voice. Amma ji asks who is that? He recognise her and instinctively says Gangaa? She hurriedly ends the call. Amma ji asks why Gangaa? He says that he felt it was Gangaa, and says that he didn’t want to talk to her, as she is dead to him. Amma ji is tensed too.
The next morning, Raahat maa serves tiffin to everyone, and says that Gangaa will also go to the College. They’re all dressed to go, when Raahat feeds Gangaa, Dahi as a sign of good luck, before anything starts. Gangaa smiles and complies. They all wish ganga best of luck. She says that she is going to the same college, that everyone knows and supports her fully. Raahat gives her pocket money, and she is hesitant, but then complies. Gangaa is highly thankful. Raahat asks her to go and study nicely. They all leave.
As Gangaa arrives at the College, Sagar too stealthily arrives to find her going in. She thinks that she was an idiot not to continue, and now, She wil study hard and get successful in life! Sagar leaves contented and satisfied, that Gangaa is on the right track. After he leaves, Gangaa finds herself the centre of attraction, and people talking in hushed tones about her, and behaving odd and indifferent to her existence.
Inside the classroom, Gangaa enters excitedly, but meets cold glances, and wonders what’s going on, as they are indifferent? She takes her seat. Finally some friends comes and ask her about her whereabouts, and ask where had she been? She says that she had gotten distracted, but now, she is back to study with full focus. She then asks those friends, as to why the classmates are behaving so weird? She is asked to let be, as she is back, and that’s what matters! Her best friend comes in and she doesn’t even greet her. Gangaa finds this extremely weird.
The Teacher arrives. After the Teacher finishes the roll call, Gangaa says that her name wasn’t called. The Teacher asks why is she here? She says that she came for studying too. He says that she has not been enrolled in the register. She is shocked to know of this. She asks how is this possible, as she hasn’t been able to come, but her name should still be there. The Teacher asks her to go to the principal to clarify. Gangaa tensedly complies.
Gangaa enters the Principal’s chamber, who gets tensed seeing her, after she gives her introduction and about her dilemma. The Principal says that a lot has been speculated about her character, her being pregnant, and the father being unknown. The Principal apologises, and says that being a matter of the College’s prestige, the board of directors has decided that she can’t be a part of this college anymore, and hence She’s rusticated. She is shocked.
Ganga is shocked to hear what the Principal has suggested. While she vehemently pleads for a chance, the Principal tells her that there is still time to rectify her mistake, and abort the child as that will soothe the society, who will forgive her too. She says that she will talk to the board and she will convince them on her part, that she made a mistake, and regrets it and will get the permission to start studying, but for that to happen, She has to abort the child first. Gangaa is apalled and distraught. She leaves tensed and apalled.
Gangaa returns back in a haze, while Raahat maa is tensed to see her. She asks what’s the matter? When Gangaa explains what the matter is, Raahat is tensed. She asks her what the solution is, and She’s shocked when she gets to know. Gangaa however, after listening to Raahat’s advice is strong and adamant that she wants to keep this baby, as a sign of love that she had for Sagar and it’s in no way a crime.
They are bantering about how they would play with Supriya’s unborn child, when she starts experiencing pain, and Supriya is found to have fever. They all get tensed. Prabha gets them all emotional, as she talks about how she too is a part of the family, and then goes to get soup for her, thinking that she should mix in another dose.
In the kitchen, Rudra finds her mixing something, and stops her. She’s shocked. He accuses her and asks what was she mixing? She starts going on an emotional rant as to not being trusted in this house, and how he is accusing her, just because she isn’t a part of the family. Rudra asks her not to do drama, and instead, prove her innocence by tasting the powder. She is stunned. He insists on her tasting it. She stoically asks him to go on now and tell her what he is doing here, when he isn’t related to the house and he’s merely sitting here! She leaves. He feels insulted.
Meanwhile, in the corridor, Prabha mixes the original packet of poison that she still has, and viciously thinks about how nicely She is killing Supriya and the child, inch by inch.
The Principal finds Gangaa coming, and he’s happy that she took the mature and practical decision so soon. She asks Gangaa to the chambers so that they can talk. Gangaa says that she wishes to talk just here, as she isn’t ashamed of what she did. A crowd gathers, and the principal is tensed. She asks Gangaa not to sway in emotions. But ganga remains stoical on her stand, and that she has decided that the child would be born. They’re all Shocked!😲. Gangaa says that she will not bow down to the societal laws at any cost, and will fight for her rights if need be, as there isn’t any law that can prevent her from studying in College! The Principal is adamant on her decision.
As Gangaa sits dazed, they all discuss how wrong it is, and thinks of various options, from changing of College, to doing correspondence. Finally, they are shut up by Raahat ma, who asks Gangaa what she wants? Gangaa is stunned and thinks that she knows what’s to be done.
Raahat maa and her family comes to support Gangaa, and raise slogans and protests, and assure Gangaa that they will not let injustice happen to her. Her friends too stand up for her, as they start generating mass support. A huge gathering follows. The Principal is told about this, She comes out and asks what’s going on! They all get tensed. She orders them to go to their various classes, but they didn’t budge. She says that she would call the management meeting to suspend them all, while they get tensed. Gangaa is also tensed for them.
By evening, the protest still continues for Gangaa’s support. Even by the next morning, Gangaa gives the Media bytes, to the journalists. Then Gangaa is called in by the Peon. Raahat gets tensed. She tells Gangaa that she would go too. The peon denies it. Gangaa is confident and goes in.
Prabha caters for Amma ji, as Sagar and Niranjan returns from the award ceremony. They’re all happy. Amma ji is happy and does the prayer to welcome him into the house. Rudra watches this too. She asks others to follow suit as well. He also adds that the family is behind this achievement and the award belongs to them. While they are about to get going for dinner, Niranjan gets a new case on the phone, and he says that he will go for the new case.
Sagar and Madhvi nudge Rudra, who smiles too.
The next morning, Amma ji finds Niranjan gone for work issues, and tells Madhvi that it’s good that they are getting back on their feet after Gangaa’s fiasco.
As Gangaa goes in, the Principal lashes at her and reprimands her for what she did and how she instigated her classmates too, and now, the committee will decide her future! Gangaa eyes them and then, Sagar and Niranjan walks in to join the meeting. An awkward silence follows, as they face each other. Gangaa is briefed in along with the board of directors, who comes with their legal advisor, as introduced by the Principal, asking if she has any issues? She has belief in him.
Sagar says as a legal council of the College, along with his father, he expresses to Gangaa that they don’t want this unnecessary drama to continue and should come to a mutual, and mature decision, as they aren’t concerned with anyone’s personal lives. She starts taunting Sagar about their meetings.
Gangaa refers to him as the judge and tells him that she hasn’t done anything wrong. Niranjan says that he is here as the director of the board meeting, and she says that she is confident of her future in his hands. The board tries to clarify why they had to do it, and then ask Gangaa if her portests regarding it is right? She then asks Niranjan and Sagar if people can’t be wrong, or only Gangaa can’t be right? Gangaa starts talking about how its unjustful, that the society decides whats to be done with a child, based on social prejudices, and asks them of their own opinion, and not the society, and if their answer is yes, then is being pregnant the reason behind it?
Gangaa narrates that giving birth isn’t a crime, but the best experience for a woman, who the Lord has himself selected for this, then how can the society brand it as one? The Principal tries to explain that they have to follow societal norms. Gangaa argues, and says that the way humanity is dying, it’s pitiful, and that they can’t be restricted to norms and orthodox cultures, which do nothing, but suffocate people. She says that she wishes to ask what’s marriage, the rituals performed by a religious sanctity? Sagar and Niranjan are rendered speechless, and asks if it’s not a relationship of two souls and hearts, and if sacrifice and commitment are the basis of this world, and if it’s so, then she did marry the person, that is the father of the child, and if the societal norms
are to be believed, then she isn’t married.
Niranjan says that everyone is entitled to their own opinion, and they are here to respect the basic societal norms. She says that norms should change with time, and it has come. She talks about how much the women have improved, and aren’t confined to the four walls anymore, and it’s good that new rules are being formed since change is the only constant thing in life. She says that when rituals has changed, then why not laws and norms, as nothing is constant? She asks how can they take the help of changing parameters to assess someone? She says that she said what she wanted to, and leaves her Career in their hands, and waits for their decision, while they eye her tensedly and towards each other too.
Gangaa then leaves the meeting hall. Gangaa walks in the corridor extremely tensed and distraught, as she remembers Niranjan’s statements inside, and how different it is from his actual opinion. Gangaa finds everyone waiting anxiously for her. Raahat sees her and asks what happened? Gangaa says that she has always done what she thought was right, without bothering people. She says that it’s her test as well as those, who believed in her, her opnions and her dreams. They ask about the College’s decision? Gangaa says that they will know after sometime. The media continuously covers it live on camera, regarding Gangaa’s career, and how she has become the milestone for the youth generation!
Inside, the board deliberates over Gangaa’s Career, while Niranjan is taken back to memories of Gangaa since her childhood, and how she always stood by her words, and never buckled under pressure.
Sagar expresses his desire to say something, before the voting begins. He is allowed. He then says that Gangaa has appealed to the board for her completion of studies, and her opinion, moral and ethics, might not match with theirs, but one thing is sure, that Gangaa’s demands aren’t wrong, illegitimate or unjustified, and she can’t be terminated on ground of mere pregnancy! They’re all surprised. One of them asks what if this affect the other children wrongly, and set a wrong example? Sagar says that they would set a bad example by ruining Gangaa’s Career, and that they need unabashed truthful speakers like Gangaa to bring the change, and for this, he doesn’t have a problem with Gangaa continuing her studies. Niranjan is shocked.
Sagar asks for the voting to proceed, as he has finished the discourse. The Principal reminds the fake MMS case, and how they supported her, but this time, they feel cheated and betrayed. Sagar says that he knows what betrayal feels, but still he stands for justice, and that Gangaa might have disappointed many by her behaviour, but despite that, he wouldn’t want her to be stripped of the basic rights to education, and asks them to give in their opinion too. They write and proceed, while Niranjan is also tensed.

Madhvi calls Pulkit and tells him about Supriya’s condition, and about her cough. He expresses that the Doctor isn’t in town. She tells him about the blood in her cough. He is scared and decides to go to someone else. He arranges and asks her to rush her to the nearest hospital. Madhvi then tells Supriya the same thing, and asks her not to be worried, as they will get her the proper treatment done. Supriya complies. She gets Rudra’s call, who says that he will get his family doctor for Supriya. She understands that Pulkit must have told him, and about Supriya’s condition. She is extremely tensed. She asks Rudra to send for the Doctor who will come home to check up on Supriya. She decides to go and tell Pulkit too, that he needn’t go to the hospital, and come home straight. She then complies and calls Pukit regarding the same thing. She tells Maharaj to get warm water for Supriya. Madhvi anxiously waits for Rudra, and gets tensed when his phone doesn’t go through.
Pulkit rushes in, and he’s distressed and distraught, while Madhvi tries to calm him down, asking him to do so, for his wife’s sake, as she is already scared and would break down, if she sees him like this. She asks him to compose hismelf, and explain to her, that nothing will happen to him, or his child. He complies and then leaves. She then gets through Rudra’s call, and asks him to hurry up! He complies.
Pulkit rushes to the room, and tries to calm Supriya down, who is very scared thinking that it isn’t a complication. While she is thoroughly distraught, he asks her not to be scared at all, and everything will be okay. She severely coughs and shows him the blood. He asks her to keep herself calm and composed, assuring her that he will not let anything happen to her and the child, and if anything perhaps, should happen, they will face it together boldly.
Later, they all wait in anticipation as the Doctor checks Supriya. The Doctor says that the Chest x-rays show that everything is fine, and a more detailed observation is required. They ask about the child? She says that she will question them only after the full report. Prabha stands tensedly. The doctor asks for blood samples, so that they can check for abnormalities? Madhvi asks if it’s essential? The Doctor complies. Pulkit rushes to get blood ampoules.
Amma ji asks what can be given to her? The Doctor tells some things. Prabha leaves to get milk when Amma ji asks her to. She rushes to the kitchen, thinking that she can’t allow the blood test to happen, as the poison’s truth will come out, and it would ruin everything! She says that come what may, she won’t let Supriya’s child come into the world, and reminds herself of the promise, to ruin this family! She wonders what to do? She is frustrated as she leaves resignedly from the kitchen, with the milk for Supriya.
Meanwhile, Pulkit enters the house with the blood collection kits. Prabha gets tensed seeing this.
Outside, Gangaa’s friends support her, but ask her to be prepared for the worst too, just in case, if the college doesn’t allow her to stay. The Principal comes and tells her in front of everyone that the board has taken the decision! She along with her friends wait for her answer in anticipation. Gangaa is tensed.
Gangaa is overjoyed, when she gets to know that she has been installed back in and they all congratulate her, but She’s tensed when she gets to know that one voted against her, but the Principal refuses to divulge this confidential information. She says that she knows why he did so.
Inside, Sagar is shocked to know that Niranjan voted againt Gangaa’s education. He asks Sagar how he could support Gangaa, after the way he betrayed and insulted him and his family? Sagar laments and wonders that Gangaa did the right thing, and he couldn’t let his professional relations mix with that of personal, and he learned that from him. Niranjan explains that he has no sympathy for the girl who can’t understand true love! Sagar regrets and asks why does it feel like it isn’t his father, but someone else in revenge, stands here today? He leaves.
Gangaa comes in tauntingly. Gangaa is misguided that it was Sagar himself that took out personal enmity, and lashes at him, as to how she thought so highly of him and his father, asthe bearers of the law and justice, but didnt know that they took out personal enmity in the garb of professional opinion. He doesn’t clarify what’s the matter, and she storms out, bad mouthing him. Sagar leaves too.
In the corridor, Gangaa is tensed, while Niranjan sees Raahat tensed as she was waiting for Gangaa, and remembers her, from their past days, when they used to date each other. He is taken back to their memories spent together. He gets emotional. He waits in the car.
Gangaa is composed by Raahat and taken away. Meanwhile, Sagar comes and sits and talks about Gangaa. Niranjan asks why didn’t he tell her? He says that it would have been of no use now.
The blood sample is taken, while Prabha is asked to hold on with the milk. After the samples are collected, Pulkit comes out with the Doctor, who gives him a long list of instructions for Supriya, and then he goes to see the Doctor off.
Prabha finds the samples unattended to and then wonders what to do? She takes an empty vial, and then hurts herself, and puts the blood in the sample, and switched them. Then she is shocked, when she hears Pulkit calling her from behind. When relieved, that he didn’t see anything, she expresses concern for him and Supriya and leaves. He is also tensed.
As she gets the chance, Prabha leaves the blood sample out in the dustbin. After she leaves, someone is shown to pick up the thrown vial from the dustbin.
As they sit to eat, Raahat get Zoya’s call, and Gangaa is told by others about Raahat’s daughter, Zoya who says that she is planning to come to Banaras. Gangaa finds her extremely happy and she’s amused. Raahat comes back and tells this to others, and they are excited too. Raahat says that she is very excited to meet Gangaa as well. They decide to celebrate Teej (A three-day-long Hindu festival dedicated to Lord Shiva and Goddess Parvati) together. Raahat rushes in to prepare her room, and Gangaa comes in to watch her so excited. Seeing Raahat so happy about her daughter’s arrival, Gangaa finds out about Zoya and her husband, and then asks about Zoya’s father and her husband? Raahat is stunned.
As sagar and Niranjan have tea 🍵, Sagar asks why they stopped here? He gets nostalgic and emotional, and says that he felt like it. Sagar asks if he’s feeling lonely, and if he’s thinking something? Niranjan is taken back to the memories of Raahat. He is tensed about the memories of the past coming up like this to confront him. He talks to Sagar about this. They also discuss Gangaa’s situation, as to how she has come on such a full circle, and She’s now back again to her studies, and fighting for her rights like she did in Childhood.
Raahat distracts Gangaa from her questions regarding her husband, and shows her, her daughter’s picture. But even when she sees the picture, Gangaa has questions about Raahat’s husband, and she keeps getting tensed. While Raahat is tensed, Gangaa banters about how her daughter looks so much like her, but must have gotten some features from her father. Raahat is disturbed, but she manages to distract her somehow.
The next morning, while they’re all selecting jewellery and other items for the women so that they can celebrate teej, Gangaa suggests Raahat select something too, but she leaves tensed. Gangaa wishes to go, but the other join her, in making choices, as she too tries on the bangles, she remembers her widowed days, and how sagar stood by her, and starts hallucinating him.
