Jalal gets furious and announces that he will pass the judgement the next day!
Jodha tries to explain things, but he shuts her off.
Maham Anga asks Jodha to leave, as she wants to have a tete-a tete with Moti in private. Moti tells Maham Anga about everything that happened and Maham Anga threatens her to keep her mouth shut in front of Jalal, else she will jeopardize Jodha’s life!
Jodha thinks that Moti is not guilty and is being framed. Moti cries inconsolably and remembers Maham Anga’s words. Jodha tries to pacify her and asks her to sleep in her room.
Maham Anga recalls how she let Adham Khan out of the Women quarters/harem, (useless son to a conniving mother).
Ruqaiya comes and tells Maham Anga that she knows it was Adham Khan who was after Moti. Maham Anga tries to dissuade her, but Ruqaiya tells her that she won’t tell Jalal if Maham Anga becomes her loyal slave. Maham Anga is one shrewd woman, so she turns the tables on Ruqaiya, that she will be in a tight spot if Jalal comes to know that it was Ruqaiya who hid the truth from him (Jalal)! Also, she categorically tells Ruqaiya that Maham Anga will never ever be a slave to anyone and only works for Mughal’s Sultanate.
Jodha tries to figure out what Moti is blabbering about in her sleep. She wakes her up, but Moti doesn’t tell her anything. Jodha thinks that there is definitely something which Moti is hiding from her.
At Amer:
Menewati pays a visit to Shugani and tells her that Jodha is not happy in her marriage. Both Jalal-Jodha were trying to fake their relationship in front of them.
Shugani asks her to be patient and wait for some more time, as the child too crawls, falls and then starts walking, which is similar to Jodha-Jalal marriage. There is a ray of hope, as Jalal also sided with Jodha in putting up a show of the relationship being working.
At Agra:
Jalal calls for Moti’s immediate presence in Diwan-i-Am/Red Fort.
In Jalal’s Court, everybody gathers as Jalal enters the Court. Maham Anga, Jodha, Ruqaiya are all present there. He sits on the throne and everybody with their head down greets him. Jalal gives a look at Jodha. Moti enters the Court. Jalal says you knew it’s not allowed that someone else enters the harem/women quarters, but he entered there because of you. Moti denies it. Jalal says it’s proved in that letter and ask the Servant to read it out loud once again. He reads the letter again and it is written that “I came to meet Moti and wanted to see you, Moti, but I’m eating poison for you…” Jalal ask you want to say something about your innocence? Moti looks at Maham Anga who has an evil look. Moti says she is innocent, she doesn’t know the man, and why he wrote her name in that note. Jalal ask for the proof of innocence.
Jodha interrupts and ask for permission to talk with Moti. Jalal gives her the permission. She comes to Moti and says to tell the truth and not to fear anyone and urges her to tell the truth. She encourages her to speak up, as she treats Moti as her friend and ask to tell her the truth for her own sake . Moti then gathers the courage to speak out Adham Khan’s name.
Ruqaiya is smirking behind the curtains while Maham Anga is furious and scared. Ruqayia then remembers what Maham Anga had warned her about.
Jalal calls for Adham Khan! Maham Anga informs him that he isn’t in Agra… He was in Mathura when this incident took place. Maham Anga says they should send the fastest horse rider to check if Adham Khan was in Mathura then or not and if Adham Khan is found in Mathura, then it will prove that Moti is lying.
Jalal agrees. He dismisses the Court and orders to meet again the next day and Moti is to imprisoned till then.
Voiceover – Maham Anga knew Jalal asked Adham Khan to go to Mathura, so she took advantage of the situation and sends him there at that incident/fateful night.
Here, Hamida bano is with Jodha. She says I do not interfere in political issue, but Jalal will investigate the matter thoroughly. Jodha says if anybody can’t prove his or her innocence, you think of him or her as the Culprit. Hamida bano corrects her that if proves are against him or her, then he/she is considered a Culprit.
Jodha says she wants to meet Moti. Hamida bano says only Jalal, Maham Anga and me are allowed to meet prisoners. So believe me, Jalal will not let any injustice happen to Moti. Jodha is thoughtful.
Moti is crying in jail. Jalal enters her cell and says we can’t give punishment to any wrong person and if it’s the matter of women, then I personally investigate the matter and ask her to think twice before making accusation on Adham Khan. He says tell me the truth, if it was a false lie, then I will give you less punishment. Moti says it’s not about the lie, but the problem is that, injustice can happen from him. Jalal says not to think he is sympathetic and if her accusation is proved wrong, then tomorrow will be her last day of life!
It is informed to Jalal that Adham Khan is present in Mathura and is solving political issues there. Jalal ask to bring everyone in Court!
In Court, Jalal says I got the news that Adham Khan is in Mathura for my assistance and says it is proved, that she had a link with that man and gives the punishment to bury her behind the wall today! Jodha is shocked.
Jodha is with someone. She says it’s impossible to change his decision and only Jalal can take back the decision. Jodha comes to Hamida bano, but she also denies it, saying she can’t be of help to her this time, around, and she’s sorry about that.
Moti is being taken to the jail. Jalal comes there and says we ask for the last wish from prisoners and ask about her wish? She says you have given what you wanted to and now, I want nothing. Jalal says asked for just a wish then, if not any, then it’s okay and leaves from there.
Jodha is desperately seeking help from every quarter, even Hamida bano doesn’t help her, she is crying at her helplessness. Maham Anga comes and rubs salt on her wounds. She explains to her the way Moti will die her slow painful death and says she will strive for air, then will suffocate and die! Jodha is terrified and Maham Anga then hands over the poison to Jodha and asks her to give it to Moti, so that she doesn’t have to suffer much and will die in a minute. Jodha is stunned. Jodha asks Maham Anga why is she hurting her? Maham Anga tells her some and story, which shows her true colours in front of Jodha and threatens Jodha to be wary of Maham Anga and not to come in her way! Jodha is shocked to see her talking like this.
Jodha does pray and asks for some path, in front of Kanhaji/Lord. Rahim comes and tells her to give the wish letter to him (Kanhaji) so that he can ask for toys from him. Jodha remembers the wish granted to her during the game of Chess, and she’s happy and hugs Rahim.
Moti is getting walled in. Jalal is having discussions with his courtiers about Mathura politics when Jodha barges into his Court. She tells that she wants to speak with the King! Jalal asks everyone to leave. Jodha tells him that she wants to save Moti’s life. Jalal tells her he can’t go back on his words. She shows him the wish letter.
Jodha gives him back the letter of the wish he granted to her after wining the chess game and says you said you will grant me my wish and I want so save Moti’s life. This is my wish. He fumes and gets up from his place. He comes to her takes the letter from her and throws it away. He is about to leave, when Jodha holds him by the hand. He grabs her hand and pulls her closer and whisper in her ear saying you are right, as nothing is bigger than the words of a King and leaves, while Jodha looks on.
The wall is being created behind, in which Moti is about to be buried alive there. The soldiers are about to place the last brick when someone comes and stops them. A messenger comes and asks to break the wall as per the orders of Jalal! Moti is freed. Jodha comes and hugs Moti. Both share an emotional moment.
Resham informs Maham Anga that Moti is safe and came out along with Jodha. Maham Anga is furious and shouts at Jodha for her ill behaviour at the Court to save Moti’s life! Jodha returns the poison to Maham Anga and tells her to use it for someone else at some other time! Maham Anga insults Jodha, that she is useless in front of all the wives, and threatens that one day, she will show her her place, and once Jalal has his fill of her, then Jodha will be discarded… Her beauty will fade in some years and then, she will be worthless in the harem/women quarters!
