Zeenat comes to Rukshar’s room and says how are you my Sister? You know everyone is worried about you, but that Reema… she is worried about celebrating diwali, she is an outsider, but Zara.. she’s a part of us, but she didn’t deny celebrating that event, you are ill, but nobody cares about you and me, I am just worried that if you don’t become fine at the right time, then what will happen to you?
Zara calls Imran and says I asked you to not meet Reema, then why did you meet her? Imran says I just had to give her something. Zara says I know you can’t stay away from her, did you tell her anything? Imran says no, we will plan things as you said, she says okay and ends the call.
Kabeer comes there and says you have been celebrating diwali since childhood? Zara says I have many memories of it, I was 11 years old when Reema’s father invited me to diwali, but Salma was angry and said Zara won’t go there, but Irfan told her that festival are about happiness, and happiness doesn’t have any religion, so he took me to Reema’s house, when I lit a firecracker for the first time, I enjoyed it so much, that I never forgot it, since then, I have been celebrating it. She says I used to ask my Parents for permission, but this time, I will ask my husband’s permission to celebrate diwali, so Kabeer, can I go and celebrate diwali with Reema? Kabeer looks on and says I am your husband, and I respect your decisions and thinking, I have seen Reema standing with you in sad and happy situations, so how can I stop you from being a part of her happiness?
Zara gets happy and hugs him, she says you are the bestest husband. She asks if he never light firecrackers? He says no, there is a sad story behind it, I didn’t have friends like Reema, and we never celebrated it in the house, so I never enjoyed it. Zara says don’t worry, this time you can celebrate diwali with us.
Zara gets Imran’s call and asks him to go to the Airport. Kabeer asks where are you sending him? Zara says I have called Reema’s Parents from US to surprise her. Kabeer says why didn’t you make me a part of it? Zara says you are part of it, you have to keep Reema busy the whole day, while we pick up her Parents from the Airport, then we will bring them to her party and surprise her. Kabeer smiles and says why are you so nice? She says for you. Kabeer moves to her and pins her to the wall. They hold hands. He kisses her hand, but she scares him off, hinting that Shehbaz is coming, he stumbles back, she laughs and says I have work to do, she leaves. Kabeer laughs.
Imran brings Reema’s Parents to his (Imran’s) house. Imran says Manoj you here, wishing you diwali. He hugs him. They all joke. Salma hugs Reema’s mother. Reema’s mother hugs Zara, Zara wishes her diwali. Reema’s Mother says you called us here and fulfilled your duty as a daughter, I wish you stay with your husband forever. Imran says bless me too. Reema’s father asks where is Kabeer? Zara says he is keeping Reema busy.
Kabeer is in the market with Reema. Reema says my shopping is done. Kabeer says you have to shop for one more hour. Reema says why? I like shopping, but I have to prepare for the party. Kabeer says don’t worry, I have asked Zara and Imran to handle everything. Reema says really? Then I will take 2 more hours to shop.
Zeenat says to Kashan in Rukshar’s room that I am miffed with Zara, Ayesha is ill, Amaan have exams, but I had to leave him to come here, as Zara is celebrating diwali. Kashan says she has done a lot, we can take care of Rukshar a day or two. Zeenat says it’s not about that, she is my sister and I can take care of her, but Zara got the chance to keep Kabeer away from Rukshar and she took it.
Kashan says you are just tired and saying all that. Zeenat says yes, I am tired of seeing my Sister in this condition, I know if Kabeer stays with my Sister, then she will become fine sooner. She cries.
Zara comes home and searches for Kabeer. She sees him running on treadmill and says you aren’t ready yet? We have to go to Reema’s house. Kabeer says you go. Zara says what about you? Kabeer says we didn’t talk about me going, I gave you the permission to go. Zara says why don’t you want to go? Kabeer says because I never celebrated diwali.
Imran calls Zara and says Reema’s Parents are waiting, Zara asks him to take them to Reema’s house. She ends the call and says to Kabeer that everyone is waiting for us, please come with me. Kabeer says I told you that I would not stop you, so you can’t pressurize me too. Zara says what will I tell Reema then? Kabeer says you can say Rukshar is ill. Zara says I am not saying that, if you are not going, then I am not going too.
Reema’s Parents comes to the party, Reema is excited to see them and says why didn’t you tell me? Her Parents say that Zara made us come here on time, she wanted to surprise us and this Imran was part of it. Reema says there is one more person who is also a part of it, it’s Kabeer who made me remain clueless.
Zara hugs Kabeer and gets sad. Kabeer embraces her tightly, dhal jaun main song plays… Zara sadly looks at him, he hints at her to go, but she shakes her head. He wipes her tears and says you know, I can’t go, it’s my helplessness, but you can go. Zara looks on. Kabeer says if you don’t go, then Reema’s heart will be broken, do you want that? Zara says I will celebrate happiness with just you, I am swearing on you, anyone can call me, but I won’t go.
Reema is calling her, Zara looks at Kabeer and ignores it. She takes her hand away from Kabeer and goes to the room. She starts taking off her jewelry. Kabeer stands there silently watching her. Imran and Reema keeps calling them.
Kabeer sees Reema calling. Zara wipes her tears, as Alina comes there. Alina says let’s go, we are late. Kabeer says um…
Reema says to Imran that I am worried that something has happened to Zara, I asked Alina to let me talk to Zara or Kabeer, but she isn’t picking up the call too, Imran says I will go and check.
Alina asks Zara what happened? Why are you crying? Zara says I will talk to you later, Reema invited you with love so go. Kabeer says you are telling this to Alina, but you aren’t understanding that yourself? She is your friend and you are putting it at stake for me? Zara says you are putting our relationship at stake for Reema? Kabeer says don’t be stubborn. Zara says you don’t see anything in front of your stubborn thinking, not even your Wife . Kabeer says I do what is right. Zara says fine, then I will do what I think is right, I will not go to Reema’s house to celebrate diwali. She takes off her earrings and leaves.
Alina says brother… Kabeer says husbands and Wives fights like that, don’t worry, you can go if you want. Alina says I really wanted to go, but I will not go without you both, she leaves. Kabeer looks on.
Zara recalls Kabeer’s words that he can’t go, and how Reema was so excited about seeing them at the party. She cries and hugs a pillar. Someone puts hand on her shoulder, she turns to see Imran there. She looks away. Imran asks what happened? Did Kabeer deny you the right to go? Zara looks down.
Imran says don’t worry, you get ready, I will bring him. Zara says he won’t agree, I did everything, but he didn’t agree, you will only waste your time. Imran says Reema and her Parents are waiting for the both of you, so what will I tell her? Zara says tell them the truth. She leaves.
In the morning, Shehbaz comes for breakfast, Alina says Ayesha has gone out for some work. Zara is taking food for Kabeer, but Kabeer comes there and sits on the table. Zara says you will sit here? Kabeer says I have to pacify someone. Zara looks away. Amaan brings firecrackers and says Reema brought them. Zeenat says keep them away, play outside! He leaves.
Shehbaz says to Kabeer that I got to know what happened, we might not have celebrated diwali, but we have always celebrated with our friends, so I think what you did was not right, you shouldn’t have said no to Reema, you could have handled it in such a way that Reema wouldn’t be miffed. Kabeer says the truth is that I never went to diwali parties, if you had taken me for one in my childhood, then this wouldn’t have happened.
Reema comes there and shouts Zara!! They all look on. Reema is in tears and says you are my best friend, you gave me biggest happiness yesterday and also the biggest pain, you called my Parents over here, but after yesterday, I thought why did you even bother calling them? They wouldn’t have seen me crying, they would keep believing that I have another home in this city, I celebrated eid with you, didnt I? You never missed diwali, but what happened yesterday? I kept waiting for you? I thought you would come and hug me, wish me diwali, but you didn’t, I was wrong, yesterday and for many years, did religion come in between our relationship and friendship? Do you see me from religion mirror now? Zara says no. Reema says then what changed between us?? It never happened before.
Zara hugs her, Reema pushes her away and says answer me, what changed?? Zara says I am married now, Kabeer and my happiness and sadness are one now, it’s my helplessness to accept his decisions. Kabeer looks on.
Reema says to Shehbaz that Kabeer not celebrating diwali means that some muslims wants to keep away from us, right? Shehbaz says it’s not like that. Reema says what happened was wrong.
Kabeer gets up and asks Reema to sit down, Reema sits down. Kabeer says I am not against diwali, holi and I can never be against you, you and Alina are same for me, you are my friend, I would walk for you, I will be part of your happiness and sadness, if I was against diwali, then would I have taken you for shopping for diwali? So not coming to your party was not my personal decision, I could be part of it, but for the City, I am the Vice President of the Sharia board, I have responsibility towards the society and they might feel bad that I became part of your diwali party, I don’t want people to start arguing, which is why I didn’t come.
Reema says fine, you represent your society and leave this friendship, but remember that your, Zara, Imran and my friendship is more than two nations, she angrily leaves. Kabeer looks on.
Zeenat brings gujiya for Rukshar and says I wish you could see Zara arguing with Kabeer, one side was her Childhood friend, Reema and the otherside was her husband, she was stuck in between the both of them. Now, I am sure their relationship will be strained till when you wake up, I want that when you wake up, Kabeer would not be able to divorce you.
Reema comes to Irfan’s house and cries. Reema says to Imran that you have an experience of 30 years and Kabeer have less experience, but you never denied Zara the right to celebrate diwali with me, you were alwaysa part of it, then why did Kabeer not allow Zara and himself to come for it? Does it mean that Islam doesn’t let people celebrate happiness with others? Salma looks on.
Zara makes ghujia and says I used to send it to Reema every year, but I don’t know how to do it this time. Kabeer comes there and says I am sorry, I feel like I am stuck in two boats, first, it was Rukshar and now, this.. You know, I can’t see tears in your eyes and I am the reason for them now. Zara says I understand but how to make Reema listen? If I don’t celebrate diwali with her, then how will eid be happy for me without her? It’s not about friendship, it’s about relationship that depends on happiness, my relationship with Reema depends on only happiness which I might not get anymore. Kabeer takes the ghujia and says can I eat them? Zara says I think it’s diwali sweets. Kabeer eats it and says if I can drink poison from your hands, then this… he makes a face, Zara says is it not good? Kabeer says it’s awesome.
Irfan calls Kabeer and says come to our house with Zara, he ends the call. Kabeer says I will have to answer a lot of questions.
Zara and Kabeer comes to Irfan’s house. Irfan says I will not answer Reema, while Kabeer and Zara will give their reasons. Irfan asks Kabeer why did he not go to her party? Kabeer says as a friend, I will always be with Reema, but people follow me as the Vice President, and if I celebrate diwali, then it will start a debate. Zara says you are only a Vice, and if some people are behind you, then there are a lot more muslims behind Irfan, he has far more experience than you, but he always sent me to Reema’s house. Reema just wants that, like I always was part of her happiness, you should also become part of it, and take this tradition ahead. Kabeer looks on.
