Gangaa calls out for Sagar, but he walks in the opposite direction unawares. Gangaa climbs the wall from a corner and signals to him. this time he notices her and runs to her happily. Why are you so late? What are you doing here? She points out at the school door that is locked. I have brought your cricket kit. Come, let’s play. Sagar jumps over the boundary happily. I thought you won’t come today. She says I had to come as you had called me. He checks the bag. I have been waiting for you since so long. I would have been punished if you didn’t come. She reminds him that he had asked her to come without telling anyone. Amma ji was sitting outside. She sent me on the terrace afterwards. You know I descended from the terrace using a rope made of dupattas, just like thieves do. Sagar is surprised. You
really did that? Will you teach me too? I too will try. It would have been fun. Were you not scared? She shakes her head. I was scared initially, but then I remembered my God and came down. It was easy. They decide to go play cricket now.
Sagar and Gangaa run towards the field where they will be playing. Sagar flies away the balloons of a balloon vendor. The man runs after them, but they are pretty fast. They run past the Ghaat and finally reach the garden.
Gangaa bowls and Sagar enjoys batting. He again gets out, but denies. She agrees with him and says let us go home now. He wants to complete 100 runs first. She is taken aback. You still have to score 26 runs? They are too much. I have run away from the house without telling anyone. Amma ji will be very upset if she gets to know about it. What if she throws me out of the house? Everyone must be looking for me by now. Babu (Niranjan) had also told me in the morning that I should not upset Amma ji; I should listen to everything that she says. Sagar talks about her promise of helping him score 100 runs today. if you break your promise now, then I will make you keep this bat on your head and take 100 rounds of this place. This is a rule of breaking promise. Amma ji will be happy if you keep me happy or if I get angry, then she too will get angry. Gangaa has no option, but to continue bowling for him. She prays to God that Amma ji is not able to find out that she has jumped off from the terrace using a rope (dupatta).
A man (the guy who sharpens knives) notices the dupattas hanging down from Chaudhary House. He looks around to make sure the road is clean and then parks his bicycle in a corner. He keeps his slippers next to it as well. He checks if the duppatas are hung really tight or not and then climbs up with its help.
Madhvi asks Maharaj ji about the maid. She tells him to soak kidney beans for tomorrow. She heads to the terrace. I had told her (maid) to give all the clothes for ironing. The thief hides in a corner. He takes out a knife from his pocket. He points it out at Madhvi just when she goes to pick the saree hung at that side. She immediately shouts for help and also holds his hand. She is hurt in the process. The thief runs down using the same dupattas as soon as possible. Maharaj ji comes up and shouts for help. People too gather outside so the thief has to leave his bicycle behind. Amma ji wakes up because of the noise. Maharaj ji notices the bicycle of the thief. He is someone who sharpens knives. He is shocked to see the rope next.
Amma ji tells Maharaj ji to bring ointment. Pulkit too comes home. He is taken aback to see the wound on his mother’s hand. Amma ji tells him about the thief. Madhvi adds that the thief only came but couldn’t steal anything. Amma ji replies that he has seen the house. He can come over any day now. Pulkit goes to call the Doctor first and then inform Niranjan too. Amma ji wonders how the thief could reach the terrace after all.
Sagar continues playing. He has crossed 100, but he wants to make more. Gangaa requests him to let her go as it is very late. Amma ji will get really upset. It is evening. He relents finally. But don’t tell anything to anyone. Don’t tell them that I bunked the school or I will get upset. She affirms. He makes her swear in the name of God. You will have to take 100 rounds of this ground if you break your promise. She nods.
The Doctor tells Chaturvedi family that the wound is not deep, but apply this ointment for a few days regularly. He leaves. Prabha says the knife could have been at the neck as well instead of the hand. Bhabhi got saved luckily. I was shocked to know that thugs have come into the house. I left everything and ran to Chaturvedi House. Pulkit whispers a joke in her mother’s ear. Prabha tells Madhvi not to worry at all as she is here now. I can even stay back here for a few days if you want me to. Don’t worry I will take care of you. I will handle this house nicely. Amma ji refuses. We all can take care of Madhvi. Maharaj ji brings juice for Madhvi, but she refuses. Prabha eyes the glass longingly. Maharaj ji turns to go, but she stops him. I don’t like wasting food so I will drink it. Everyone waits patiently as Prabha finishes the juice in one go. She tells Maharaj ji to make juice for Prince / Yash too. He had just returned from the school. I was about to serve food to him when I spoke to him about what happened here. This kid left everything and cried that he wanted to meet Madhvi right away. Prince leaves with Maharaj ji.
Police comes there. Niranjan asks him about the lax in security. Thieves stole from Mishra ji’s house in the afternoon and now they tried to do the same here. You will have to do something. In most of the houses, women and ladies are at home at afternoon. It is your responsibility to protect them. Police Inspector tells him that it was a random guy who sharpens knives. It looks like he was the only thief. Amma ji too finds it odd. He was roaming outside since noon. Inspector points out that his cycle is still outside. Don’t worry, we will find him soon. I cannot understand who made this rope using dupattas and hung it from your terrace? Was someone upstairs? Maid mentioned Gangaa’s name. Amma ji only had sent her to keep the birds away from the pickle. Prabha goes near her and speaks in low tones. Connect it all. Gangaa was upstairs. Madhvi was attacked on the terrace. Her life was in danger. She got saved luckily but how come Gangaa didn’t see anything? The main thing to think here is where is Gangaa actually? Everyone starts wondering about it.
Sagar and Gangaa comes home. They notice police outside and are curious. Sagar tells Gangaa to go from the main door. I will come in a while. Everyone will question us if we go inside together. Gangaa leaves reluctantly.
Amma ji yet again points out that she has been right. I told you not to keep anyone without knowing about their background. See what she has done. Prabha adds fuel to the fire. I had a doubt on her already that she belongs to some gang. Madhvi takes Gangaa’s side, but Prabha calls her innocent. These people look innocent, but they are not so in reality. Ask your husband if you don’t trust me. He can identify thieves just like that. Niranjan is all quiet.
Gangaa enters. Prabha is the first one to notice her. Everyone follows her gaze. They all rush to her and bombard her with questions. Where were you? Why did you go when we had told you not to!? Maid points at the cricket kit slung on her shoulder. Amma ji gets angry. Were you dying to play? Maharaj ji is unable to understand how Gangaa got down the terrace. Gangaa addresses Niranjan. I just went outside for a while. He retorts angrily. What did I tell you? Don’t trouble Amma ji, listen to her. This is what I told you to do, yet you didn’t listen to her and went out, why? Did you make this rope using dupattas? Did you get down using this very same rope? She keeps quiet which infuriates him further. I didn’t expect this from you. Do you realise what all could have happened today because of your carelessness? A thief came up using this rope. He attacked Madhvi and she is hurt. It is all because of you. Gangaa bows down her head sadly.
Sagar comes home. Niranjan asks for an explanation, but Gangaa keeps quiet. Pulkit looks at both of them doubtfully though. Madhvi too asks Gangaa who looks helplessly at Sagar. Prabha remarks that this girl won’t speak up so easily. Niranjan says I had brought you here on my own. I upset Amma ji. I told everyone that a girl should not be left alone, but now I feel that Amma ji was right. I made a very big mistake by keeping you in this house. Sad title track plays. Gangaa is heartbroken. I am regretting my decision for the first time in life. I wonder what I did! Sagar stands there with his head bowed down. Gangaa is in tears. Niranjan leaves from there. Madhvi feels bad for Gangaa. Prabha follows Amma ji inside. Sagar and Gangaa looks at each other.
Niranjan says to Gangaa that I made a very big mistake by keeping you in this house. Sad title track plays… Gangaa is heartbroken. I am regretting my decision for the first time in life. I wonder why I did what I did! Sagar stands there with his head bowed down. Gangaa is in tears. Niranjan leaves from there. Madhvi feels bad for Gangaa. Prabha follows Amma ji inside. Madhvi sends Sagar to his room to change his clothes. She leaves after telling Maharaj ji to give the kids whatever they want to eat. Yash(Prince) acts bossy on Maharaj ji. Pulkit eyes Sagar and Gangaa suspiciously.
Prabha follows Amma ji to her room. I have never seen Niranjan ji this angry. The electricity is off, so Prabha waves hand fan for Amma ji. Amma ji is still in disbelief that such a small girl could climb down from the
terrace. I had told her not to go out of the house, but she couldn’t stay at home. Prabha still feels Gangaa is not as innocent as she appears to be. No one will listen to us. Maid brings tea and biscuits for Amma ji. Prabha notices only 2 biscuits in the tray. This is against your prestige. Amma ji orders the maid to bring some more snacks for her. Now you should help me in getting rid of Gangaa. We got saved today luckily. My son and my Daughter-in-law just said it’s for the sake of it that it is just a matter of few days only. The girl will leave. If I trust them, then that girl will stick to our home for forever. These people are just great, but I will have to find a solution for this problem. Prabha agrees with her. We have to take some action fast. Gangaa overhears their convo from a distance and is tensed.
Sagar is playing, but Pulkit drags him inside their room. Tell me where you had taken Gangaa? She came home first and then you entered. Sagar lies that he came from the school. Pulkit asks about his bag? Did you go to school without your bag? Tell me whatever it is or I will tell everything to Papa. Sagar confesses everything. Pulkit gets angry as Sagar has bunked the school. Sagar requests him not to tell it to anyone. I won’t repeat this mistake ever again. Pulkit explains Gangaa’s situation to him. Gangaa is not at fault. You are at fault. She listens to everything that you say. She even plays with you even if she is not interested. She got scolded today because of you and actually saved you. You are not even strong enough to accept your own mistake! I won’t say anything to Papa, but you should learn something. Gangaa got punished for your mistake. I hope you will talk to her nicely now and won’t trouble her. Pulpit asked him to go apolologize to Gangaa or he would tell Papa.
Next morning, everyone is eating breakfast. Niranjan and Raghav ji discuss about some papers. Maharaj ji mutters in the kitchen about work pressure. Maid too has started coming late these days.
Gangaa looks at Niranjan. She asks Maharaj ji if she can take the tea? He gives it to her and says be careful though. Pulkit and Sagar notice Gangaa and then looked at their father. Gangaa keeps the cup on the table, but Niranjan is too engrossed in his papers. Sagar tells his father that Gangaa has brought tea for him. Niranjan takes a sip and then leaves with Raghav ji without saying anything to Gangaa. Gangaa stands there sad / hurt.
Prabha notice Gangaa playing stappu.
Prabha goes to talk to Gangaa. Madhvi and Niranjan are really good so they have kept you here with love. Don’t you feel bad? But I heard that you speak about self-respect, and won’t beg or accept pity from anyone? Gangaa repeats her Bappa’s words. The one who doesn’t have self-respect is poor. Prabha points out that it is against self-respect if you live in someone else’s house for free. It is worst than begging if you get food free. If you want to live in this house with self-respect and don’t want to take anyone’s favour, then you will have to do something for sure. Gangaa asks her for suggestion? Prabha explains that she can either help the maid / Maharaj ji. This will give you peace and make Amma ji happy too. Gangaa asks about Niranjan? Prabha says he will be really happy. He will proudly say that Gangaa is very hard working and an intelligent girl. Gangaa smiles.
Prabha stands aside while Ganga washes clothes. Amma ji too looks on from a distance. Maid suggests Prabha not to let Gangaa increase her work, She won’t be able to do it. Prabha points out that she is only washing her clothes. What’s your problem with that? Amma ji asks her if she has learnt anything at her home or not? Gangaa affirms it. My Bappa has taught me everything, I will do it all. Prabha appreciates her. How else will you learn it if you don’t do it? We would have made the girl of our house (if there was one) learn all this too. Maid understands the whole thing. She gives another lot of clothes to Gangaa. Prabha takes the maid with her so she can massage her head. Maid has no option, but to do it. Gangaa continues washing the clothes. Amma ji looks on from a distance.
Prabha makes Gangaa clean Pulkit and Sagar’s room. Gangaa arranges the entire room nicely. Maid gives her more utensils to clean. Little Gangaa is doing everything without saying anything to anyone. Madhvi notices Gangaa carrying a basket full of clean utensils to the kitchen. Why are you taking it? Gangaa replies that she has washed them all. See, how clean they look now! Madhvi calls out for Maharaj ji. Maid is here, right? Why is Gangaa doing all the work then? Prabha answers before Maharaj ji could say anything. It is ok. She will learn some work this way. If you had a daughter, then you too would have made her learn all the household chores. Gangaa has done all this as per her own wish. No one has forced her. You can ask her. Gangaa agrees. I love doing all this work. No one has forced me to do them. Prabha remarks
that Niranjan ji is right about her. Madhvi is not so happy about it. Amma ji calls out for Madhvi. Prabha takes Madhvi with her. Madhvi goes to give instructions to Maharaj ji about all what he has to buy from the market. Prabha sends Gangaa to wipe the utensils clean and then arrange them in the kitchen.
Sagar finds Gangaa in the kitchen. He tells her to play with him, but she refuses. She says I have a lot of work to do. He asks her if Dadi has asked her to do all this? Gangaa says no, I am doing this on my own as I like it. I have my self-respect. Why should I eat for free? Sagar is confused. I don’t do any work, so I eat for free too? She reasons that it is different. You won’t understand the difference. Amma ji got upset with me that day and now Niranjan is upset too. if I do all the work, then Amma ji will get happy, seeing which Niranjan too will get happy. You should go from here as I want to please Niranjan or Amma ji will throw me out of the house. Sagar looks on from a distance while Gangaa continues cleaning the house. She hurts herself as she tries to take hot water from the boiler. Sagar rushes to her in concern. They didn’t realise that the tap is on. Sagar takes her with him so he can apply ointment on her fingers. He blows air as well so she feels better.
Niranjan notices them thus and asks them what’s happening? He too gets worried for Gangaa. It’s good that it isn’t that big a wound. I am proud of you son that you took care of her. What were you doing that your hand got burnt? Sagar replies that everyone is making Gangaa do a lot of many works so she got hurt. Gangaa denies it and says no one told me or forced me to do it. I was doing it on my own. I enjoy doing household work. Sagar says she is lying. She was working so she could please you and Dadi. She said that you were angry with her for what happened yesterday. Niranjan asks her if she feels so? What you did yesterday was not right so we were bound to be upset with you. you should have listened to Amma ji. Amma ji had told you not to go out, yet you went out stealthily, which is wrong. Whatever happened yesterday is in the past, so we’ve forgotten all that. Kids make mistakes, so we took it that way only. No one will be angry with you if you listen to what Amma ji says. Sagar points out that he didn’t even drink the tea brought by Gangaa in the morning? Niranjan says I was busy, but I had taken a sip or two. You know I won the case in court. You are very lucky Gangaa. Your tea made me win the case. Gangaa smiles broadly. Sagar too agrees with his dad.
Prabha tells Amma ji that her husband’s boss’s daughter delivered a baby a few days ago. She needs a girl who can take care of the baby and handle household work. I was testing Gangaa for the very same reason to see if she can do all the work or not? Amma ji confirms it with Prabha if they will take care of Gangaa too? They have their own baby now so will they be considerate towards Gangaa too? Prabha says Gangaa is getting a good house. There won’t be any problem. But we will have to hide it from Niranjan ji that the couple already have a baby. He won’t agree to send her there otherwise, He won’t send her to widow’s Ashram too, so will she stay here at our home forever? She says no one even adopts a widow girl. They are bound to be good if they have agreed to adopt a widow girl.
