Jodha gets impatient and wants to know if Salim was going to be safe?
Salim would have two lives. Salim would have to die before Jodha’s life ended.
Jodha is distraught and shocked to hear this. She scolds Shaguni bai and shouts at her and orders her to leave the Palace! Shaguni bai then tells Jodha to have the guts to hear the future;
Salim would die and be reborn, his feelings would die, his heart would break, his love would die, and Salim would be reborn as the Emperor and he would have second love in his life, just as Jalal died, and Akbar was born similarly, Salim would be reborn… His first love had already entered his life.
Shaguni gives a laugh, and leaves.
Flashback of manifestation/incarnation scene of where Jodha says she did not know then that Anarkali was already in Salim’s life.
Elsewhere in the Sultanate, a Caravan was proceeding with Women, Children, Soldiers, it is Riyaz Beg and his pregnant wife Asmat, They decide to camp, as it was getting dark, unfortunately at night, they are attacked by dacoits/bandits. The family runs and hides to save their lives leaving behind their belongings. Asmat the wife of Riyaz beg is heavily pregnant with her fourth child, they are lucky to be helped by Malik Masood and his Caravan, who happened to pass by. A Servant in Malik’s caravan delivers Queen Asmat and Riyaz names Mehrunisa. They wonder that dacoits her looted everything . They would not be able to bring up 4 children, as they already had 3 sons to take care of.
Heart rending scene as Riyaz takes Mehrunisa from the arms of weeping Asmat and abandons the baby to its fate.
As Malik’s caravan was proceeding, he stops for namaaz. Next moment, he hears wailing of a baby. He finds an abandoned baby. He recognises Riyaz beg. Malik scolds Riyaz for abandoning his child, as this was a big sin! Malik assures him that he was going to Akbar’s Court, he would get some employment for him, and Asmat is very happy to get her child back. Riyaz then assures his wife that he would never part with his daughter.
At Agra, Rashid and Zil Bahar have packed their house hold belongings and are leaving Agra. As they leave on bullock cart, Salim notices Nadela leaving.
Elsewhere, Jodha is praying to Maa Kali for speedy recovery of Qadir. The Priest performs havan.
Maunvies offers prayers for Qadir and bless him at his bed side. “Jai kali jai kaali… ”bhajan plays in the background, as Jodha prays tearfully. And before the song is over, Qadir shows miraculous recovery. The Doctor declares Qadir is recovering. Qadir mutters Grandmother. Hesitantly, the Doctor happily makes him drink medicine.
In his Chamber, Jalal is having serious discussions with Todar Mal on how to control the rioting states. He confirms Jodha’s security arrangements. The Doctor then shares the good news about Qadir’s recovery. Jalal is thrilled that this means Salim would return soon. Jalal orders the Doctor’s house should be filled with gold and silver.
Qadir wishes to meet his Grandmother. Jalal orders that arrangements should be made to send Qadir back to his home and bring Salim back.
Ruqaiya comes to Jalal and seeks permission to accompany Todar Mal for escorting Salim back, as Jodha is away for havan and prayer for Salim. Ruqaiya convinces Jalal and he grants her permission to get Salim back. Ruqaiya then tells herself that this was the right time to poison Salim’s heart against Jodha!
Salim was undergoing his punishment in poverty with Fatima bi. He faces life bravely. They are surprised to be visited by Ruqaiya and her royal entourage and Todal Mal sahab. Ruqaiya announces the return of Qadir after his recovery from long illness. Qadir hugs his Grandmother happily… Qadir-Grandmother unite happily.
Ruqaiya then hugs Salim and announces that his punishment was over and he could return to the Palace. Salim asks about Father (Jalal) and Mother (Jodha). Ruqaiya poisons Salim’s innocent mind by saying they had more important work to do rather than getting him back to the Palace! Salim is saddened but is excited about returning to the Palace. Salim bids emotional farewell to Grandmother Fatima bi and pomise to meet often in the future. Ruqaiya then happily tells Salim that he was returning as the Prince of Mughal Sultanate, so he had to be appropriately attired in his royal robes. Salim then changes into his royal robes with turban, sword, jewellery and rides a horse and proudly rides back to the Palace.
Jodha comes out of her room, she ask why all this decorations in the Palace? Hamida comes and says that today is a very special day for you too, Qadir has come to consciousness, Jalal has ordered to call Salim back and send Qadir to Fatima bi, Jodha says really, my son is coming back? She starts crying and says Maa (goddess) listened to me, Qadir got fine and my Son is coming back, I will go to bring him.
Jalal comes and says if you go to bring him, then who will make choorma bhaati (dish/food preparation) for him? Don’t worry Todar and Ruqaiya have gone to bring him, they must be coming, Jodha says it’s good Ruqaiya went to take him, I have to do many things, I have to make sweets for him, she runs to do the preparations for Salim’s welcome, all smiling, Jalal says to Hamida that I have seen smile on her face after much time, Hamida says she is a Mother, Palace happiness is coming back, I will not let him go away again! Jalal says I will not get time to meet Salim, as he has many mothers, you, Salima, Jodha, Ruqaiya, etc that I will not be able to meet him, Hamida says everyone loves him.
All comes to the gate, Salim comes to the Palace on horse, all the Soldiers cheers for him, Salim looks at Jodha and thinks that Jodha was in the Palace, but couldn’t come to bring me, this means she doesn’t love me, Jodha does aarti of Salim, Salim recalls how Jodha went against him every time, how she asked Jalal to give him punishment, how Ruqaiya kept telling him that his Mother doesn’t love him, so didn’t even come to bring him to the Palace.
After aarti, Jodha says to Salim that I can’t tell how much I love you, she opens her arms to hug Salim, Salim runs to Hamida and hugs her, Salim meets Salima, Jodha feels it, but smile nonetheless, all the Children hugs Salim and congratulates him.
Jodha says Salim, let’s go inside, Salim ignores her, Jalal opens his arms to hug Salim, but Salim ignores him too. Jalal notices his behaviour.
Salim comes to his room and finds Rangoli there, he recalls how he (Salim) once said to Jodha that I like rangoli you make, I will keep sitting here to protect it that nobody destroys it! Jodha says if you like this, then I will make this rangoli on every special occasion, Flashback ends.
Salim now recalls bitter words of Ruqaiya that a Mother can die for her child, but your Mother has taken the side of Rashid who was conspiring to kill you, Salim angrily looks at the Rangoli and smears it with his feet, Jodha comes there and ask who smeared the Rangoli? She says it may be because of the heavy winds, she says look what I have brought for you, I will make you eat food today, I have made everything which is your favourite.
Jalal comes there, Salim says to Jodha that I am not hungry!
At night, Jodha recalls how Salim ignored her and Jalal, Jalal comes there and says I know you are worried about Salim, Jodha says I am not understanding anything, Jalal says maybe he is tired, Jodha says no, it’s something else, Jalal says give him sometime, he will be fine, you also get angry with him, but he pacifies you, so you pacify him too, don’t worry, everything will be fine by tomorrow, Jodha says I hope so.
Rahim comes to Salim and ask him to come for sword fighting, Salim is tensed, Rahim ask the matter? Salim says don’t you think that Jalal was unfair with me in giving me punishment? Rahim says if punishment is less than crime, then it’s for teaching, if it is equal, then justice, and if it’s more than crime, then it’s cruelty, Jalal has made you learn things, Salim says I did mistake unintentionally, Rashid was forgiven but not me? Rahim says you will understand when you will become King, don’t think about it, let’s go, they go to Practice.
All the Children are doing practice for Sword fighting, Jalal comes there and says I will practice with Salim, while Rahim you practice with the other Children. Jalal and Salim starts sword fighting, Salim is attacking Jalal, Jalal is defending, Jalal says enough! He ask Salim to come with him. Salim and Jalal sit, Jalal ask are you angry with me? Why this much rudeness? Salim says you punished me, you should not have done that. Jalal says what I did was for your good, I wanted to make you learn something and you did, when you will grow up, you will know. Salim says you didn’t do justice, I would not have given such punishment if I was a King.
Jalal says then what punishment would yoy have given? Salim says that I will tell you when I will become King, now I want to practice. He leaves.
Jalal is in his room, Jodha comes there and says that this is wrong, Salim has returned just now and you sent him for practice, Jalal says he is the next King, Jodha says then I have to wait for him to shower my love, Jalal says you don’t have to wait, you can love till Salim come, Jodha says no, whose love it is will be given to him only, Jalal says you are right, Jodha ask why you seem tensed? Jalal says Salim is angry with me, that I gave punishment to him. Jodha says he has taken that decision in his heart.
Hamida comes there and says I want to do royal feast on Salim’s return, Jalal and Jodha are happy that salim might be pacified this way.
