Outside, some people are gossiping saying the King didn’t spare his own Wife, he house arrested her, he is very cruel, and doesn’t even respect his own Wife! Jalal fumes listening to this.
Jodha interrupts and says what type of talks is this…? He is your King. The Man says he is very arrogant! Others says she is Queen Jodha. Jodha says like your family, we are also a family, and misunderstanding happens in families. It’s a very personal issue, so please stop this rubbish talk. Jalal listen to all this and he’s happily stunned.
Jodha distributes food and coins among the needy. Jalal is also sitting in line and ask for penny. Jodha looks at his bracelet, then at him. He ask for some penny. Jodha says what can I give to the King? Jalal look at her and she says I didn’t recognize you before in Amer, but now, you can’t fool me. They have an eye lock. Jalal says so you recognize me? Jodha says the bracelet you are wearing has been given by Bharmal on their wedding. And it doesn’t look good if a King acts like a Beggar and his wife doesn’t like seeing her husband as a Beggar. She leaves, while Jalal smiles.
Jalal comes to Altaf and ask for a Penny. He gives him a coin, but Jalal rejects it. Altaf ask what else do you want? Jalal says I have heard that you make very good boxes, give me one box. Altaf asks what will a beggar do with a box? Jalal says I need it and shows him the Thorn Apple’s box and says it should look like this. Altaf is shocked and ask Jalal where he got it from? Now, Jalal shows him his face and says this is the same box his Child got killed.
Altaf apologizes for not recognizing him. Jalal ask will you tell me how the person that asked for this box, from you, looks like? Altaf readily agrees.
Now, Altaf and Jalal are in Palace and Altaf guides the artist to make the sketch of the Culprit. She sketches what Altaf tells her. Jalal looks at the sketch and he’s shocked as it’s of Maham Anga.
He ask Altaf, are you sure? He says yes, I am sure. Jalal thinks Oh God, what am I seeing, it’s Aunt’s eyes! He remembers Maham Anga’s words that the Culprit is none other than herself, she has killed his Child!
He then remembers Jodha asking Rahim to say what he has seen. He fumes remembering all this!
Jalal comes to Salima’s, room. He politely ask Rahim for the truth. Rahim ask if he won’t punish him? Jalal says I will not punish you, nor will I arrest you, but just tell me where you got this box from?
Rahim doesn’t answer, so Salima ask him to always speak nothing, but the truth. Jalal says absolutely correct, and that’s why I have bought many boxes for you, just tell me exactly what you told your Aunt (Jodha).
Rahim says when I was playing with the Pigeon, I came to your room and saw a box in your hand, and got terrified, and that was why I went straight to Aunt (Jodha) and told her that on the day of the Celebration, I sneaked into Maham Anga’s room and saw that box in her hand, then on the ground, so I took it, I didn’t steal it.
Jalal is emotional and ask him to leave. Rahim leaves. Salima says I understand everything.
Jodha ask Moti to distribute this sweet/holy offering, when Rahim suddenly comes running in, and bumping straight into Moti. Moti ask why he bumped into her? He asks why she always cross his path? She smiles.
Jodha ask him why he’s here? He says he won’t talk to her… He told her not to tell Jalal anything, but she did! He says that Jalal is far better than her, as he fulfilled his promise. Jodha ask him what promise? Rahim tells her everything that Jalal ask him about the box, and he explained everything to him, exactly how it is.
Jodha is stunned and says that means Jalal has gotten to know the truth. Jodha thinks how did Jalal come to know that Maham Anga is the Culprit? She thinks, to know this truth, was that why he was in disguise earlier on? She ponders and says I don’t know, but does he still has faith in Maham Anga or believes the truth?
On the other side, Jalal is walking, totally distraught.
Jalal cries. He’s in pain and says why did Aunt do this to him? He can’t believe Aunt did it, as she was the one who saved him from his Uncle, then why did she kill her foster Son’s unborn Son?
He remembers when in Childhood, his Uncle runs from battle field, leaving Jalal there, and Maham Anga saved him. Then he remembers how Maham Anga used to play with him, and how she used to make him eat.
He shouts why with me…! Why did you do this! He throws things around and sits on the ground weeping.
In Amer, Menewati ask Sukanya to be patience, as it was all good that she didn’t get engaged or married to Ratan Singh. Sukanya cries and says nothing will be right… Mine and Jodha’s fate is not good, first the Mughals killed Suryabhan, and now, Ratan Singh.
Bharmal comes. Sukanya hugs him. Bharmal says what Jalal did was right, as Ratan Singh wasn’t a good person, if I knew, I could have done the same thing.
Menewati says arresting your own wife is right? Bharmal says when you are a King, you need to take crucial decision. Menewati says like doubting and arresting your in-laws, who have come to congratulate you? Bharmal says he doubted them, arrested them, but when he got to know that they are innocent, he freed them with full dignity and your Sons saved him at the risks of their own life in battle field, you should be proud of them, and not sad. Menewati says I am.
Jalal ask his Ministers to ask the Soldiers to keep an eye on everything! The Minister ask why the sudden lot of strict security in the Palace? Jalal says I got to know who the Culprit is, and she’s in the Palace. He says inform everybody that tonight, I will announce the Culprit name! The Ministers are stunned.
Security measures are been taken in the Agra Palace. Announcer announces that Jalal has ordered that all the Palace’s gates, like the Women quarters’ main gate be closed, and nobody can go outside, nor come inside!
Ruqaiya says I knew Jalal will do justice with my Child.
Jodha tells Moti that Jalal knows the truth, they are happy and thanks the lord.
Outside, the Minister says to the Soldiers that today is the last day of the Culprit here, so keep the security very tight! Resham listens to this and comes running into Adham Khan’s room. She informs him that Maham Anga is the real Culprit. He says are you mad! She says Maham Anga told me this herself, I am not wrong. He says she didn’t tell me anything, which shows that she doesn’t trust me and she has destroyed my future, and now, Jalal will not spare us! Resham says it’s not the time to think about this, just save her!
He comes to Maham Anga, who is drinking juice. He shouts outside thar storm is coming and you are drinking juice? Maham Anga offers him one, saying you will stay calm. Adham Khan throws it away and says you told Resham your secret, but not me! He says you really do not trust me, and if you were not my Mother, I could have done something terrible to you. He ask her to come with him, as it’s not safe here, so they will leave!
Maham Anga says I won’t leave! He ask why? She says I want to know what Jalal will do now? Will he punish me or not? Adham Khan says she has gone mad! Maham Anga assures him that Jalal won’t take any action, so do not be tensed and drink the juice.
She leaves from there and comes to a corner where mirror is placed. She slides the mirror behind which is a Secret door/Passage way. She opens it and says time has come! She gives an evil smirk.
Jodha goes to change her clothes and ask Moti to see nobody comes inside.
Jalal comes and he’s going inside. Moti thinks he is Jodha’s husband so he can come anytime, I can’t stop him.
Jodha is changing in her room, when he comes and sees her. He smiles broadly. Jodha becomes shy. Jodha drapes herself by her scarf. Jalal turns his back. Jodha ask why he’s smiling? He says I smile to weird things. Jodha ask what is weird? He says you are my wife, but talking to you feels like I am talking to a stranger, I am your husband, but I can’t see you, this is weird. He says just seeing me, you panic, when you shouldn’t be, as I can touch you and can see you, but I have no will to do so, this is weird, as we have relations, but we hate each other, this is weird.
Jalal says anyways, I am here to say that as a King, I don’t need to say sorry to anyone, but I just wanted to show my grief on what happened to you, I will now catch the real Culprit and it suits a King that If I give someone something, I take something back as well. I have apologized to you now, so you have two choices; that after the Culprit is caught, you will be free, you can go back to Amer, I will give you divorce or you have the right to get separated from me, but need my approval which I am giving to you. He says I know you might be alone for your whole life, but it’s better to be alone, than living with someone whom you hate the most, now the choice is yours; You want to go OR continue living here?
He is about to leave, but stops, and says I like green colour, keep wearing it. He leaves.
Jodha fumes and ask Moti why she allowed him to come inside? Moti says he is your husband and I can never stop him from coming in. Jodha laughs continuously, then cries. Suddenly, Moti ask what happened? Jodha says fate has again played game with me and Jalal, as a correction for his mistake, has given me a choice, that I can return to Amer by becoming a divorcee OR I can stay here with the person (Jalal) that I hate the most. She asks what sort of game is fate playing with me? Jodha cries.
Jalal does his prayers and prays to God that I should do justice now.
All are waiting in Jalal’s Court. Maham Anga also comes. Jalal comes and sits on the throne. Jalal says I got to know the real Culprit, but I will give him a chance to announce himself, so his death will be easy. Nobody answers, so Jalal says the time is over! If he comes forward, then his punishment would have been less, but he disobeyed my order and only my relative could have done this!
Jalal says to Adham Khan that the Culprit is Maham Anga, and he points to where Maham Anga is standing. He grabs and pushed her to the ground and ask why she did that! They are all shocked.
Adham Khan comes and says spare her and give me the punishment. Jalal says I am doing nothing with your mother or Aunt, but with this Culprit! He ask to present Aunt, and suddenly, Maham Anga comes inside. They are all shocked to see a lookalike of Maham Anga.
Jalal says don’t be shocked, the one who is on the ground is just a look alike of Maham Anga, only in face, not in doings. He says I can never doubt my Aunt, but when Queen Jodha pointed this out, I thought there must be some reason to this, so I thought of asking Maham Anga directly.
Jalal says I have gone to her through a secret way, so nobody knows about my investigation. I saw her taking sips of tobacco, so I got suspicious, as Maham Anga did not do it, and the next day, I asked her to take a sip, she said she used to drink it, but now, she can’t anymore, as she’s an asthmatic patient, so if she inhales it, she will start coughing.
Jalal says I thought to investigate the more. Flashback shows how Jalal sees Maham Anga writing a letter and says Maham Anga only knows how to write in Urdu and Arabic language, but she was writing from left to right, which means it was some other language. He then comes to that look alike and says you and Hamida bano are compiling history of Humayun in a book, and do you remember when my Uncle left me on the Palace’s roof, where enemies were firing rockets…? And Hamida saved me. The look alike agrees and says yes she saved you. Jalal says it was Maham Anga who saved him, not Hamida bano. FB ends.
He says he got another proof then. He adds that he then met some history writer and ask if this possible, that a look alike exists? The writer says absolutely, as history has the proof like, when Humayun died, a look alike was placed on the throne to save the Kingdom from enemies, and says a great King, Ameer Hamza was an expert in changing his getup to solve the Kingdom’s problem.
Jalal says in the past, many Kings and enemies changed their getup to become a look alike of someone and this time, it was with Aunt. He says and to get one more proof, he asked this lady to make food for him, and she said she will make him a spicy food, whereas Maham Anga knows he doesn’t eat spicy food. He says then, he decided to tell Maham Anga this.
