Ruqaiya is sitting in her room, Hoshiyar says first, Jodha denied to change her religion and now agreed all of a sudden? Ruqaiya says it doesn’t matter, whatever she did was in my favour, Jalal is angry with her, so he will not go to her room, she says I will go and give company to Jalal.
Jalal is in royal bath tub, he drinks wine and recalls how he had seen Jodha in the Mosque, Ruqaiya comes there, she touches Jalal, he ask her to leave him! Ruqaiya ask what’s the matter? Jalal says you know it! Ruqaiya says okay, I will not talk about it, Jalal says this thing is hitting me hard, I did war so that no one is forced to change religion and when I returned, what I saw was unbearable! He says I will leave now! He leaves.
Ruqaiya says that you don’t have time for me and neither love.
Jodha says to Moti that Jalal is angry with me and I am the reason, what I did wasnt right? Moti says the situation was such that your decision was not wrong, Jalal will understand it too, pacify him, Jodha says don’t tie my hairs, Jalal likes my opened hairs.
Jodha comes to Jalal and ask if you are still angry with me? Jalal says you remember first promise we did in marriage? Jodha says yes, that wife shoud obey husband’s order, should follow it till death, Jalal says I feel that promise should be removed from the ritual rounds, as it’s not being followed, so no more need for it, Jodha says I know I did a mistake, you can punish me, but don’t be angry with me, Jalal says after all this, you want me to not get angry? Okay, I will not be miffed!
Jodha says your behaviour is hurting me, Jalal says before I say something inappropriate, just leave from here! Jodha says be angry at me, scold me, but don’t ask me to leave, I want to be with you, she holds his hand, Jalal says how can I go against your orders, you did that, but I will not do it, okay, stay here and I will leave from here! He leaves.
Salima ask Hamida what are you thinking? Hamida says I want to know what Jodha is thinking, she didn’t change her religion when I asked her but now, she went to change her religion? Salima says she is your daughter and can’t see you in pain, so to make you eat, she went to change her religion, but now, everything is fine, and we won the war too, but Jalal is angry with Jodha, she went against him
Hamida says Jodha was wrong, if she had taken this decision way back, then we would have been saved from all this! Salima says so you think Jodha was wrong? Hamida says I was thinking about the whole Nation and she was thinking about her husband, but when it’s about the Nation, and family, one should choose family, Salima says what if this incident affect Jalal-Jodha’s relationship? Hamida says it all depends on Jalal, how he takes things.
Zil Bahar comes to Anarkali who is liting oil lamp, she says I am very happy, Jalal won the war and Salim has become the next King, I prayed for this, Zil Bahar says you are not understanding things, Salim is like a dream for you, don’t think about him, it will hurt you, don’t forget they have given us a place to live, don’t forget you are a Dancer, you can only have ghungroos (Musical Anklets) not Crown, we are common people, we can dream, but it can’t be fulfilled, lit oil lamps of happiness, but be careful, as it can burn your hand too, she leaves, Anarkali is hurt, she says I have already lost my heart, she does off the oil lamps.
Jalal comes to the Women Quarters, he says when I went out, a Sin happened here, I have given freedom to everyone, but my authority and my orders are being challenged, that too by my wife, today, I will take strict decision! Ruqaiya is happy.
Jalal says Mariam-uz-Zamani (Ultimate Queen/Queen of Queens) went against my decision, I know she is powerful, but she will get punished, I will give her such punishment that nobody can challenge my decision ever again! He says I went to do war, but it has nothing to with Jodha’s religion, it was war for beliefs, if anyone accept Islam willingly, then I will be way much happy, but it’s insult of my religion to accept it forcefully!
Jalal says to Jodha that you have made fun of our relationship, our promises, and I will punish you for this;
I have taken decision to Divorce you!
All are shocked, Salima says this is a Sin to give her divorce without knowing her side of the story, Jalal says she did Sin and she will be punished, nobody will come to me to take her side!
I will divorce her in front of everyone.
Jalal sternly looks at Jodha who is in disbelief, he leaves, Jodha gets angry and leaves too.
Jodha comes to Jalal in his room, she looks at him and ask why you did it?? Don’t you love me? How can you give me divorce? Jalal says you went against me, isn’t it enough to divorce you and love is gone, Jodha says I didn’t do anything, I did that for my Nation, as I am answerable to them, I respect you, you have always served your Nation, I have this duty too.
Jalal says your duty is too big that you went against your husband??? Jodha says it was not against you, but that decision was for my Nation bythe Queen, we all used to have sleepless nights here when you were in war, as war was not between you and Iran, but between our Princes, the brothers were fighting too and what you did? You gave title to one Son one day and give to another Son the other day, she says brothers used to love each other, but now are ready to kill each other, why?? Because I didn’t change my religion, I ache for the Soldiers, I didn’t want them to die, so I took that decision for my Nation, and if I can’t take decisions for them, then why did you make me Queen?
She says tell me what could I have answered to God that because of my religion, many people died? What is more important? To fight for religion or to fight against religion? He looks at her, Jodha says if you are angry with my decision, then I accept it.
Jalal says you went against me not once, but twice, it proves that you don’t give importance to me and it’s sin to change religion forcefully, Jodha says what is religion? It is to make peace, not to fight, what you are thinking is fight, hating others, but what lesson do you want give to your Sons? That it’s good to use violence? She says;
You won’t understand this today, but one day, you will understand that my decision was not wrong.
She curtly looks at him and leaves.
Hoshiyar says to Ruqaiya that I thought you would be happy, as Jalal is giving divorce to Jodha, Ruqaiya ask do you dream? He says yes, she ask when? He says while sleeping, Ruqaiya says dreams can’t be seen with closed eyes, Hoshiyar says what? Ruqaiya says dreams aren’t that we see in sleeping, but dreams are what don’t let you sleep, if you want to make your dreams too, then you have to keep active and what I am seeing is not true, I know Jalal very well, he thinks a lot before taking decision, that’s why I am not celebrating, I want to know what’s cooking in Jalal’s head.
Jodha comes to her room, she is both sad and angry, she looks at her Vermilion bottle. Jalal comes there and puts vermilion in her forehead, she cries happily, and closes her eyes.
Jodha recalls in flashback how Jalal once said that she is looking very pretty, see with my eyes, you are the most beautiful, Jodha says you are naughty, what if someone sees us? Jalal says no one can come in between us, our relationship is weird, we got married, but didn’t know each other, then we hated each other so much that it changed to love, I always thank God for sending you into my life, what you pray to Khana? Jodha says I pray for this relationship, I pray that I die before you, so that I remain yours till last, Jalal says what kind of prayer is this? Jodha says all women want that they have their husband in last stage of life, you know only death can separate us, Jalal stops her and says nothing can separate us, they hug, FB ends.
Jodha opens her eyes and sees that it was her imagination, Jalal is not in the room, she applies vermilion, she says till I am alive, I won’t let jalal go away from me, I won’t divorce you at any cost!
The Divorce news spread in the whole city. People are talking about it. Todar says to Birbal that Jalal is thinking differently, Fazal says only time will tell if this is right or wrong, Birbal says I hope she gets the strength to bear all this.
Salim, Daniyal, Murad comes back to Agra Palace, all are happy seeing them, Jodha does Salim’s, Murad’s and Daniyal’s aarti, she says I pray that you three always win, Salim touches her feet, he goes to Hamida and says what happened to you? Hamida says now that you have come, I will be fine.
Murad hugs Salima, Salima says I am proud of you, Salim meets Ruqaiya, Hamida says I am proud of you three, Salim notices Jalal and Jodha standing afar, Jalal ask all to come in Court.
In Court, Jalal says for a father, Sons are his strength and my Sons have proved it, someone tried to do war with me and my Sons without questioning me, fought with them and won the war for me, they have set example and I am proud of them, today, I will announce that the Throne belongs to Salim, as he’s the elder Son, he deserves to be next King, Murad and Daniyal are not happy.
Jalal says on Poonam’s day, I will give crown to Salim as Vice-King, he hugs Salim, Jodha thinks that at least, Salim and Jalal have good rapport now.
Anarkali is burning leaves, Salim comes there and says there is no need to burn them, I have come back, Anarkali looks at him and gets happy, she tightly hugs him and says thank God you have come, I have missed you a lot, I kept praying for you all day and night, why did you take so much time to come back? She recalls how Zil Bahar said that Salim is just a dream for her, she breaks the hug and turns away, she says I was saying that I prayed for the whole army.
Salim smiles and says you’ve always loved me and you love me now too, but you used to now show it and even now, you hide it? Anarkali says no, I don’t love you, Salim says you are lying, the much I love you, you love me too, say it once, what’s in your heart, in your breath, in your eyes, say it that you love me, say it that your heart beats for Salim only, Anarkali is in tears and says it’s not like that, Salim says if it’s not the case, then why are you burning leaves? Why you have tears in your eyes?
Anarkali looks into his eyes and says yes, I love you, Salim is surprised, but my love is destruction for you which is why I never told you that I love you, that I feel like dying when I am away from you, she hugs him tightly, he hugs her back, Rabba is pyar mein plays… They sit.
Salim says I can’t tell you how much happy I am, now we will be one, I will talk to Jodha, I will tell her how much I love you, she will make Jalal understand too, Anarkali says are you sure Jalal will listen to Jodha? He says why? Tell me what’s the matter?
Anarkali says in Jalal’s absence, Jodha tried to change her religion, but Jalal stopped her, he is miffed with her, so he is taking divorce from her, Salim is stunned.
Jalal is drinking wine and looking at Jodha’s picture, Salim comes there, he ask Salim to sit, Salim says I have not come to sit here, I want to ask you why are you divorcing my Mother? Jalal says because I feel it’s right, Salim says she has given you her whole life, was with you in every step, loved you and you are giving her this in return?? Jalal says the one we love doesn’t do what Jodha did, Salim says I only know my Mother can never do wrong, she has always followed you, so why this decision for you?
Jalal says she went against me, tried to change her religion, Salim says there must be some reason behind this, she has always thought about others, she always cares for others, she didn’t change her religion before, for you.
Jalal says when I told her to not change religion, then why she did that in my absence? I will punish her and it’s my decision! Salim says okay, do whatever you want, but you are doing mistake! Salim says to Jalal that if this is your decision that you want to divorce my Mother? Then I have taken decision too, that I will not become Next King! Jalal is shocked, he leaves.
Fazal comes to Hamida, he says there is one problem, I couldn’t go to Jalal so came here, you know I am writing biography of Jalal, but there is no history about divorce in any Mughal King’s life, I can’t write this page, I am sorry, he gives the book to her and leaves, Hamida sadly looks at the book.
Maan Singh comes to Jalal, Jalal ask what’s the matter? Maan Singh says I am not happy with your decision, you are doing wrong with Jodha, if Jodha leaves the Mughal Saltanate, then I will go with her, Jalal says this is my decision, you are my Minister, so follow me! Maan Singh says first, I am Jodha’s Nephew, I came here only with Jodha, so I will go back with only her, I have my loyalty with the Mughal Saltanate, but I am related to Jodha first, I am talking to my Uncle not the Mughal King, you can punish me! He leaves. Jalal looks on.
In Court, Jalal ask to start the Divorce proceeding! The Priest says that Jalal want to give divorce to Jodha, as she insulted him and this legal divorce, Jalal will have to give wealth (meher) to Jodha, Jalal says I accept. He tells that it includes lots of gold, jewelry, coins etc, Jodha asks that’s it? I don’t accept this, I want more wealth! All are shocked.
